Com'on! It's not Rocket Surgery!

I have a story to tell.

The story of Bloody-Knee the lovely city kajira. She kneeled any time a free came by. She was thought to be a good girl. Even though she fell quickly to her knees no matter the surface. Stone, Wood, Cobble, it didn't matter. Then one day her master hung a bag of coins to take to a trusted merchant. He sent her out in the morning to get the list of goods he wanted. The merchant was only four city blocks away, and should of only taken the slave less then an ahn. Time moved on though and she never returned. Late that night her master got worried about his property and went out to find her. One block away from his house on a busy merchant street . He demanded to know why she did not get his goods and return. She begged forgiveness and explained that she was unable to move from where she was kneeling. She explained that every few feet she had had to drop to her knees out of respect for the free and ask if she could pass them. Then she broke down in tears because the free had ignored her as they went on with their business. She had no idea what to do and had been crying all day. As the years went on she served her master until one day she could not get up and down nearly as well as she used to. By this time she had also ruined her masters carpet by her knees bleeding all over it. Finally her knees were worn from the abuse of her kneeling on them all the time. Poor Bloody-Knees was put down like a lame horse. The end.

Many people would say the free are right not the slaves. A slave should not correct the free. But in this case, the context of a man spewing out a threat to the bond to kneel is asking for trouble. You would get their back hair way up. The bond was wrong also, as was her owner for putting her into trap. I feel that multiple wrongs were made.

The bond's owner was wrong.
For commanding his slave to only kneel to him. Slaves HAVE to obey any free. They can't say no.

The bond was wrong.
For correcting the free and for not kneeling when told to. Regardless.

The master was wrong
For assuming that all slaves have to kneel all the time.

thank you for this story of the poor kajira ...  Wink

i remember a red caste in c... some time ago, he was kneeling half day next to the gate. everybody asked him why he did so. his reply: i just want to know how it feels! ... if i remember well, he never asked me again to kneel all the time.

my first char had once been preparing some meals. standing of course, when a free stepped in and told me to kneel. i did so, and stopped preparing the meal. he then told me to go on. he got angry and told me in IM that i had to do what he ordered. my reply was: how can i prepare a meal while kneeling?
He: my slaves do so.
Me: but it is not possible
He: not my problem ... Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

nothing more to say...

Bond maids and Kajirae are all Slaves for the Free, yes ... but, its perfectly fine for bond maids to mock their silkened sisters and even to hate each other. There is a kind of rank system within the slave population and they fought hard sometimes.

Slave pride and slave animosities and quarrels are a means to control them...

If all slaves become friends and snuggle, the free are obsolete and a Spartaca Kajira will rally the slaves and revolt against them - until the kneeling dolls hold the whips and the command!

Not just fine its BTB and it can be fun RP.

“Look!” cried Pudding. “A silk girl!’ The expression ‘silk girl’ is used, often, among bondmaids of the north, to refer to their counterparts in the south. The expression reflects their belief that such girls are spoiled, excessively pampered, indulged and coddled, sleek pets, who have little to do but adorn themselves with cosmetics and await their masters, cuddled cutely, on plush, scarlet coverlets, fringed with gold. There is some envy in this charge, I think. More literally, the expression tends to be based on the fact that the brief slave tunic of the south, the single garment permitted the female slave, is often of silk. Southern girls, incidentally, in my opinion, though scarcely as worked as their northern sisters in bondage, a function of the economic distinction between the farm and city, are often worked, and worked hard, particularly if they have not pleased their masters. Silk girl is not quite silkie. Either way some times the role play goes to far. Role play how you need to. Remember when slinging insults, even just role played one that there is a person on the other end of the computer.

Thats true. A teasing will be always fine but there is a line. Not all are awarewhen they overstepped.

Don't forget the rest of the quote:

"High-farm girls!” she whispered, as she passed the bondmaids of Ivar Forkbeard. In the south the southern slave girl commonly regards her northern counterparts as bumpkins, dolts from the high farms on the slopes of the mountains of Torvaldsland; she thinks of them as doing little but swilling tarsk and dunging fields; she regards them as, essentially, nothing more than a form of bosk cow, used to work, to give simple pleasure to rude men, and to breed thralls.

Bumpkins, dolts and bosk cows!  heheheh

Incidentally a bond maid describing asouthern slave as a "kajira", as if she were not a kajira herself, is silly.  The proper term of abuse or jealousy is "silk girl" because bond maids are also kajirae.
