A question, not a challenge: would it really be likely that even in one of these events, a panther girl would be allowed to enter the gates of the city dressed in her panther clothes, and leave freely?  Or would she be expected to dress as befitting a FW?

As Ven said, she might be permitted in but leaving would be an entirely different issue. Used, abused, and maybe dressed in some fine silks and tied to a tree in the woods in an easily accessible position with a sign "Kitty - free to good home"

I thought you meant by 'backlash' that she back-handed you IC. It's truly not for a slave to say what a Free would do, as in this case, your master.  Regardless, it is never ok for anyone to go off on another player in IM.

I made the comment..because it is what my Master has said to me many times about what he would do to one, and he is the city slaver for that city

If she is not in trade business with a merchant, if she is not hired as scout or spy of an official, collar the slut!

To the OP: what was your reason for making that comment to the panther girl?  Was it purely IC, or were you trying to make an OOC point about the fact you thought she shouldn't be within the gates dressed like that?

OOC - Maybe he just wasn't interested in such implausible RP.  I can understand turning a blind eye rather than rewarding the player with attention of any kind. 

IC - I can see him muttering under his breath "no wonder no one put a collar on this ones neck" and walking away.  In Gor all FW were not made slaves.  Only those most beautiful and I would think the same would apply to a panther girl so thats another way of playing it.  Pure disdain.

I agree. A panther showing up at any village or city gate asking to be let it is completely idiotic. She would be enslaved without much ceremony - and if she is really too ugly and stupid to be used as a pot girl or something - she would be killed.

Now, it can be played that panther girls interact with cities - but it has to be done much more intelligently. Why not have a contact in the city and meet secretely to sell ....something.....even if it is just gathered info.

Panther girl walks up to the gate and rings the bell impatiently.
Guard Y: Why are you ringing that bell, tree slut?  Do you look for a collar?
Panther girl: No, I'm here for an appointment with X.  I'm meeting him in the tea room for a business lunch.
Guard Y opens the gate and welcomes her "come on in. Just leave your weapons in the cloakroom".
Panther girl walks through the gate, gives the slut at the cloakroom her weapons and takes the little slip of paper with the number "859" written on it, and proceeds to the tea room, sitting down on a cushion in the centre.
Slave Z sees the panther girl and goes to her, kneeling before her "greetings huntress, my master will be with you in a minute, he is still in a meeting with the Ubar.  Can I get you some black wine while you wait?"
Panther girl: "Yes, slut, bring me a black wine, first serve."
(Slave Z goes and prepares the black wine.  Ten posts later:)
Slave Z on her knees holds up the black wine "here huntress, your black wine, warm and tasty, may it please you"
Panther girl takes the cup from the girl and sips "it is good"
Slave Z: If there is nothing else, huntress, may I return to my chores? 
Panther girl: Go!  I will wait.
Slave Z: Thank you, huntress.  If you need anything else, just call and I will come.
Panther girl sits, sipping her black wine.  As she waits, she removes some scrolls she has brought and studies them.
X walks in, sees the panther girl, offers her his hand, and sits down "thank you for coming, did you have a safe trip?  I see you found us alright"
Panther girl: Glad to meet you at last, yes, the trip was uneventful.  Lovely town you have here"
X: Yes, we like it.  Now, what is it that you wanted to speak to me about?
Panther girl unfolds a scroll and hands it to X "our band is the number one supplier of premium slave girls in this part of the forest, and we have some prime examples, that we are prepared to offer you as part of a special introductory package.  This is a special, one-time-only deal.  But if you are interested in signing an agreement to allow us to be your sole supplier, we are prepared to extend this price for a limited time only"
X: Sounds interesting. What kind of numbers are we talking about?
Panther girl: Well, if you would commit to taking a minimum of 30 slaves in one year, we will guarantee you this price for that period.
X: 30 slaves is a bit more than we are prepared to commit to.  What about 15?
Panther girl takes a quill, dips it in ink, and writes a number on a piece of scroll "for a minimum of 15, this will be the price per slave"
X takes the scroll, looks it over and says "this is acceptable, but if we do order 30 or more, I want a rebate to the price originally mentioned"
Panther girl sips her black wine, looking into the eyes of X, pondering how far she can go "if you order 30, we will rebate to the original price half, and all above 30 will be at the new price"
X smiles to the panther girl and sticks his hand out "agreed.  I'll have my slave write up the order and bring it to you".
Panther girl stands, takes his hand and says "Thank you for the order.  It's been a pleasure doing business with you.  I look forward to a long and mutually profitable relationship".  With these words, she takes leave, goes back to the cloakroom, gives the girl her ticket and takes her weapons, exits the city and returns to her camp to report this to her En.
