So i started thinking, confession is good for the soul...

What is it that you do that is NOT BTB,  what is is that you do that Discourages the RP with others. 

I'll Start. 

I Ignore some people when they are not dressed appropriately. 
- I let Free women Expose themselves because I don't care to deal with the general OOC retorts.  the explanation of WHY they do what they do.  I don't care enough about their Histories and past, so i don't want to put up with it.  It's easier on my to progress MY agenda if i let them dress how they want.

I play an acceptable Outlaw.
- In my opinion, and in my interpretations of the books, Outlaws are bad, in the Eyes of Gorean Society.  Even though I play the part of a man who gave up his caste, defies even his own sense of Honour, and thumbs my nose at Gorean Culture, I STILL want to be friends with people and play with them.  I Like it when people want to play with me, so I ignore the fact that people SHOULD hate me. and dance along with the rest of the gang.

I Use Onlineisms.
- Who Doesn't really, every now and again.  But i Know I am, it's just easier.  I have also had several homestones, I've treated my own slaves better than others. and Use a bow when i fight, even when I AM playing a Warrior..



I am Curious if anyone else will turn the Camera around and look at themselves.  I wonder who else will have the guts to post the results here..

Yerp ^^ I do that.  If i see a Free woman exposed, no veil ((and it is custom to wear one where I am)), no shoes!!!!, yeah.....Not only will i not let them in the gate, I will "help" them understand that women's didn't let their jubblies hang out.  (( not talking she-urts here, just the regular proper dress wearing lady .....with her mountains of boobage uncovered))

Unfortunately, I will also...on occasion....just make stuff up   Yep.  I've done it.  I don't know the answer?  I cant find it?  No one is around?  Guess what, my made up answer is now the answer!

I make a mental note to avoid players who I have had bad RP experiences with in the past.  That can be bad because time changes us all.

I've figured out what I enjoy most about SL Gor so I avoid sims where that isn't possible which doesn't do much to support the "gorean community".

I place value on the nuanced RP of those who don't take the easy route in a scene or storyline which may cause me to miss out on the beauty of simplicity.

I'm a total sucker for a player who easily interlaces book knowledge into their RP.  I'll buy rolls every day from a baker who knows what a bakers knot is.

ETA: After several years I just quit.  Kait is a selfish RP player only.  I no longer bother providing any kind of training or mentoring in game.  Instead I save all those quotes for the forums.

I didn't really fully play out the role of a merchant. I never visited other sims, wood and other supplies just magically restocked themselves in Garrgons shop. I didn't even play out needing a new saw now and then, or that mine was getting dull. There was a lot of merchant rp that I should have done, but I was too busy collaring slaves.

I used to go AFK in my house sometimes when I saw a visiting slave or FW walk in the gates of Clearchus. At the time I said I was really AFK, but I admit to faking it now. I was just sick and tired of all of the fw and slaves in and out without escorts and all of the strip/collar/brand roleplay I was doing. Over and over and over. (For all those people that said "WHY IS EVERYONE IN THEIR HOUSE AFK!", now you know why. *whispering* They were out there.)

The biggest was probably my refusal to read more of the books than I have already. Maybe I would have known more if I'd read them. Maybe I would have had a better handle on Garrgon, but they were too painful to put myself through. I took my chances.

I have critisized people for not reading the books.. which is not nice really.

I have critisized people for not dressing to my idea of what the role should be that they play..admittedly I am more picky about Torvi's than others.. I just have a hard time with people who dont get that we are not Mad Max..and we arent Highlander..

I critisize people who god mod role play.. it makes my head hurt..

I avoid one line role play when it is only one person typing 6 or 7 one liners in response to something..I can never tell when they are done if they don't put it all down in one post and it seriously screws up my response when they step all over me due to me para playing and taking a min to respond to thier 7 one line responses.. if that makes sense... anyway..I avoice people who role play like that and avoid them like the plague ever after.. not very fair I guess..

I have sabatoged role play of others with IC comments about things that are really OOC pet peeves... example.. when Torvies talk to me or near me with that freakin stupid ass highlander accent.. ICly I make statements about not understanding them..and wondering where they are from cause they certainly aint from anywhere Ive been in Torvaldsland..etc etc.. very very bad form Ormr..

basically I have been an asshole at times to people that probably didn't deserve it because I get frustrated when its the 10th time in one day that I have to explain this shit too.. which is not cool really..

I have been known to let my slave get away with things.. not always.. but sometimes.. when she shouldn't just because she is mine..

I have gone against the nature of my role ICly and comprimised in conflict role play instead of getting right into a fight..

I dont switch off the computer and kick the cat when something stupid happens.. I dive right in and sometimes make a bad situation even worse

As a character... I am sometimes too lenient with slaves and not always imaginative about the role play interaction with them.

One example that will remain for me forever is a friend called Sucarab.. I saw him one day have 9 slaves all lying on the floor face down as he berated them for all the tarn shit in the square in Treve. He spent over two hours engaged with these slaves in a very humourous and strict manner that had them cleaning up the square, getting him a drink as he supervised and generally being run ragged by him.. that took patience, appreciation of how to engage a large group of people, made it fun and with simple emotes of a  look, a stance.. he totally dominated them and the women loved him.

Ermm.. I allow and encourage my kajira to wear the sexiest stuff possible even when I am rping being a poor slob.. it doesnt look right, but who cares I just love their sexy pixels.

I will sometimes let a panther go, instead of enslaving her and selling her off... I like to think its part of my capture release programme to let them go back to the wild and breed... I am an Eco friendly naturist orientated gorean

Where to start.......


I use a bow as a warrior, though not wrong... it is unusual for a warrior.

I continue to propagate the onlinism that the serums also work to speed recovery time,( the idea being that cell production is increased many fold over the norm, which accounts for continued youth and health of organs, thus the healing process would also, by logic, be increased also), when I have yet to run across a single quote in the books to this effect. I've even asked other physicians if they have seen one and got nothing. Yet most of them do it the same way.

If there is a physician shortage and I can't find one in the first hour of looking I will 2 box my physician AV and do it my self.

Most of the time I am pretty level headed but every now and again I loose my temper and then the flood gates open and even typing I have a hard time not saying what ever comes to my mind. It's not habit, but even the few times it happens it needs to be worked on. Even one time is to many.

I've gotten my self killed before on purpose so I had a reason to ban a person or group.

That's all I can think of that is " Wrong" I guess. See me again in the "What I do that is as annoying as yellow snow in your yard" and I will get back with you

I don't play my character as totally submissive. Not everything that comes out of my mouth begins with "Yes Master" or "Yes Mistress."  I have a tendancy to speak freely at times as well.

I have been known to foray with panthers and travel on my own.

I avoid and walk away from roleplay when I can tell someone is being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk; I don't accept abusive roleplay without cause. When they get in my IM about not taking my punishment I tell them that everyone in Gorean society has a role, even slaves, and that role is not to be some asshole's punching bag. This is sensible to me, but it occurs more often then it should. Not sure whose fault it is, mine or the other.

Bitter version:
- I played a panther girl (discouraged RP with so many others)
- Now I play a kajira and try to get a miserable slavery (not BTB)

Normal version:
- I have read 14 books, so most I do in SL Gor is not BTB even though I try to understand the culture of Gor and stick with it
- I have certain things I "ok" for the sake of this being a game for earthlings and not normal life for Goreans
- I do thinks now and then on a personal consideration of them being logically deriveable from the books, not because they would be written in them
