At the other end of the side, as a physician, I do not find doing endless amount of arrow wound and badaging to be the most appealing way to spend my RP time. While I don't mind doing caste work and really enjoy medical RPs; that is not the only type of RPs I am capable of doing.
I don't think RPing all minor injuries are necessary and becomes trite after time. Although, from time to time, dropping in at the infirmary for a wound could help with realism and help physicians (especially apprentices) gain valuable caste experience. I find the more interesting RP comes from severe and near death wounds hence my focus on surgery.
For example, I had two meter deaths in which both patients decided on near death injury with extensive surgery. One, also had grave injury which he would not realistically recover his eyes.. but none of them would accept permanent death and injury.. so we came up with an acceptable way to fit into their storyline while respecting that the character did suffer a major health setback. One even thought about getting a scar for the occasion. I find these types of RPs can greatly enhance character development and enjoy collaborating with.
So while I don't think going to the infirmary after every raid is necessary; I do think that: if you somehow get hit by a Kur and miraculously live, suffer the blue flame of the PK, or have a massive trauma including severed limbs... a trip to the infirmary might be in order.. and who knows you might actually enjoy the RP.
But at the end of the day, we all have limited time of how we want to RP and I suppose if you really can't be bothered with medical RP; don't do it. Last thing I want is to feel rushed or that I am imposing on someone else's time. As I could be off doing other things as well. So I never approach anyone for medical RPs. I figure if the person really wanted it. They can come to the infirmary or find a physician. That's why I am usually standing at or near the infirmary when I am logged and not in a middle of a scene. I did have one of those online indicators in Cyprianus and for some reason, no one ever used them.
