Nestled and hidden in the sleepy hills, woods and fields that surrounded the sunken Cardonicus is a lone village - backwater Piedmont.  The foliage grows thick and heavy over land and water.  Gor's beauties are surrounding the stout village, its wary citizens safely tucked away from most of civilization.  The village folk are used to the sound of a panther cry and the zing of arrows that whiz past.  The Ubar is rough and hardened to the life of a country dweller and used to frequent attacks upon his village's barrikades.  Panthers, feral and filthy, roam the woods - protective of their camp.  They are unwilling to trade their freedom for the collar, thus they fiercely prowl.  Rangers keep their families locked tight, their free women and children, hearty and strong.  Kajirae used to hard work as much as they are used to pleasure softly pad the stone.  It is there our story takes place, under the three moons of Gor.

Will you meet a panther eye-to-eye or at the end of her arrow tip?  Can you endure the hardships of a village life, simple but sincere?  Living close, the people taking their breaths with each other?  A strong, fierce love of their home stone circle's their hearts.  Though you might come to stay for a time, are you strong enough to get past the established trust those who have lived there all there lives feel in each other?  Consider what you need...for many travel and stay in the lovely forest, or quaint walls of the fortress, but few understand the depth of loyalty that runs in the blood of the Thassa that feeds the lovely, isolated place.

Want to be a she urt at our docks? Want to roleplay a sensitive poet? A mercenary loyal only to gold? A hunter who loves to hunt? Our forest contains all manner of dangers from wild beasts to the formidable panther girls. A honorable warrior? If you have a personal storyline that you'd like to develop, then the Village of Piedmont can be your next home. We are an RP friendly village and would love the chance to interact with you.

***The Village of Piedmont is interested particularly in:**
- Red Caste: We DO train red caste
- Slavers
- Slaves
- Tavern Master
- Inn keeper
- Merchants
- all the shady guys like thieves, smugglers, urts and such to live in the docklands.
- we offer a small hunters camp for a group of dedicated roleplayers.

- Panthergirls to join the local tribe Tre'sha Jerag

Rules for The woods of Cardonicus and Village of Piedmont.

The rules are short and won't cover all aspects for a reason. Use common sense to fill in the gaps or our moderators will do for you. It is experimental, so please don't force us to go back to novels, covering every aspect.

The main rule is the following: Play fair, sensible and gorean. If you stick to that we all are fine.

*******************************
Important stuff in brief:

1. NO FEMALE OUTLAWS/MERCS/WARRIORS/ASSASINS
2. ONLY LEGAL WEAPONS AND ONLY WEAPONS FITTING YOUR ROLE
3. NO SHOOTING OVER 96m
4. NO FIGHTING FROM TARNBACK
5. RP EMOTES REQUIREMENTS:
    - 3 lines to bind
    - 3 separate lines to scale any wall
    - 15mins of RP to self unbind
    - 5 mins of RP to pick lock
    - 15 mins of RP to pick security locks (cells)
    - 30mins for a kill (with valid rp reason)
6. NO conflict RP with the following sims or individuals from there:
 None at the moment

*****************************************

Now the main stuff:

1)  AVATARS:
Only adult and human avatars are allowed.  All parts of your appearance must be human and gorean in appearence.  *Gorean* animals allowed, with emote only actions - no speech, no thoughts.  Must be accurate as possible.  If wild and aggressive - once captured or killed, may not return for a minimum of 24 hours in sim and not more often than three times per week.

2)  GOREANS AND VISITORS:
Visitors are welcomed here. You must wear an Observer title and interaction through IM's only if at all possible. All Goreans must wear the Gorean Meter if they intend to RP, are allowed to use the tag visitor if they wish only to visit. The visitor tag does not allow IC interactions and conversations in local chat. use IMs. Scouting is not allowed with visitor tag.
RPers and visitors: Gorean/medieval outfit.
Rpers: appropriately dressed following your role.

3)  ROLE PLAY LIMITS:  Please don't apply non-Gorean limits. They will be ignored. Do *not* assume we read profiles. If it doesn't come-out in role play open chat, then we don't know about it. If we cannot *see* it, it doesn't exist. (This includes sheathed weapons!)

4)  HOSTILE ACTIONS:  Piedmont and the surrounding woods are on the outskirts of civilization.  You should have a better reason for attacking here than boredom.

NOTE: "Gorean Evolved" and other "non-by the books" role players are welcomed here only when role playing "by the books". If any captures are made, they may only be taken to other "by the books" sims, unless they agree otherwise.

We do not recognize a kidnapping (FW or slave) or burnings/plundering of village or camp if the sim is empty.  If a defender is not present please reserve for another day.  Be creative, scout ahead of time but do not take advantage of an empty sim.

5)  ARMED FEMALES:  Other than panther girls, you do not exist in this sim. If you are female and not in Panther Girl regalia, dress appropriately or be ejected. We will give one warning. Otherwise, just don't bother.

6)  PANTHER GIRLS:  Panther girls did not raid walled cities full of armed men.  This is a village, so attacks are not ruled out fully, but will be reserved for approved btb bands of panthers alone. Clearify your status before starting to interact and only come at sim nights and when warriors are here to defend.

Approved tribes so far: Tre'sha Jerag

However, panther girls are most welcome in disguise  for role play purposes. Come steal food and drink and clothing or something. Or of course roam the woods freely.

NO ALLIED PANTHERS EVER!

7)  SLAVES:  All slaves are welcomed here and generally receive safe passage.  If you are unowned you risk collaring here though.  If you are owned and not with your owner, you are welcomed here.  However, do have a role play non-player character (NPC) as an escort.

Cool  DRAMATICS:  Please leave your OOC dramafest at home. Practically *all* "drama" can be handled in role play. If you come to play because of OOC grief we will treat your rp accordingly: as grief.

9) INVALID PROCLAMATIONS: People call invalid far too easily.  Keep RP going and settle matters first in IMs with the other party involved and then if still needed call a mod. DON'T shout invalid all over the sim!

Looks like a lovely rebuild.  I used to live in Piedmont, the rebuild looks more open and spacious. Will have a stop-by soon to look. All the best!

It looks nice...from the outside...but...drama lurks still on the inside.
They claim to be 100% btb but have a female Magistrate who used to be the owner and First Slave of the old City of Cardonicus, as well as her alts of Ubara and panther chieftess.

The panther tribe used to be a excellent challenge to raid their camp, several great bows AND terrific RP's as well.  Most of them lost with honor and RP'd capture realistically as well as being captors also.  Unfortunately the goods ones have left or, from what I have heard, been chased off by the new leader who is all disney and pew pew.

Get rid of the Disney or at least claim to be GE and drop the claim of being btb.

Yes, nice rebuild of Piedmont, but it would be nice, to get rid of the Disney female magistrate....

ADMIN REMARK:
@Sasi and Alex
Your posts were reported because it was felt, that you attacked one rp'er not the place.
Please care a bit on this part.

*************

My personal opinion on this matter - without knowing the sim policy or having rp'd there. Firstly, please never forget that we rp in SL still, which is peoples spare time and mostly they do not all want to follow a book like a bible and the most men I got to know during several experiences in sim administrations are not up to become a magistrate. They want to be warriors, Assassins or something else that sounds a bit more different to their rl and gots the taste of fighting and danger. Also I had to realise in the past, that the role as magistrate isn't of the grateful sort. People mostly cannot stay IC when it comes to dealing with a magistrate. Those people have to deal with a lot of OOC and whining. Though I know how glad simowners can be if they found a person who is willing and able to deal with all this in her/his - again - spare time. And some really do not care whether it is a man or a woman. Though please be fair and do not judge over a person who perhaps gives a lot to fulfill the role as good as possible. She may have hard times anyway no need to call her (!) or the sim as a whole "disney".
Just my few cents.

@Laja

On the magistrate point, regarding the RP, the thread "input on a tricky situation" gave an enough good example of stupid role play given by this magistrate and it has been even suspected it was for OOC reasons. I have no clue about the possibility of OOC reasons or not, but the RP which has been told, was lame. You may not follow a bible, but when you RP a magistrate in a BTB city, you can RP it in a coherent way. As you dont organize a trial at a time where the first interested one informed that she couldnt log.... Also, as it has been discussed recently in a few threads, magistrate is not a female character role.

Too, I am not used to attack a sim. The RP of one RPer doesnt reflect the whole sim. I may criticize a build, but not the sim itself. A sim, it's after all, the RP, the OOC management and all its members. Not one person. So, I confess, not in the most diplomatic and tactful way, I pointed an element of this sim.

The sim lost one member and maybe, this situation, by the critics that have been expressed (see the thread "input on a tricky situation") will help the OOC management to correct a situation which goes wrong.

But I do not have any reason, yes, to attack the whole sim. Too, at the opposite of Alex, I can say that the tribe leadership is the same since... 2 years, if my memory is good and this tribe is one of the rare BTB ones.

Admin Remark:
I want to have the discussion about certain rpers stopped by now.
Please get back to the Opener, which is about the rebuild of the sim.

Ty in advance Smiley
