Just recently one of my girls asked me to give her "travel papers"... as a Master demanded that she should have travel papers when not in her "home SIM".

Well, I wrote the travel papers... and I added a sentence that those masters asking for travel papers should better care for the girls rather then herassing them. As I personaly feel this to be an herassment. Some Matsers seem to have little else to do than to stop Kajirae walking in the streets (even in their own SIM... yes also in Sand Sleen where I live) and ask them for thier permission to be outside.

*mumbles some words that better no one should hear*

Let me quote a passage from "Beasts Of Gor", the 12th book in ther series, where Tarl explains to his girl Audrey, how slaves are commonly treated on Gor.

Quote
“It does not sound to me like the slave girl is overburdened with domestic labors,” she said.

“I suppose, objectively, she is not,” I said. “Still, there are things for her to do.”

“Is she as occupied as the wife of Earth?” asked the girl.

“Of course not,” I said. “That would be foolish. The wife of Earth is, from the Gorean point of view, much overworked. When the husband returns home she is often, actually, engaged in labors. How can she greet him properly? At night, so numerous and excessive have been her labors, she is often exhausted. That would be preposterous from the Gorean point of view. The Gorean master does not buy a girl with the primary objective of obtaining a domestic servant but with the intention of acquiring a marvelous slave. He wants the girl to be a wonder to him. He is quite cheerful about the sacrifice of domestic servitude in order to obtain what is far more important to him. When he returns to his compartments he does not want to find a worn chore woman there but a lovely slave, fresh, vital, eager and fully alive, kneeling before him, waiting to be commanded.”

“What does the girl do in her free time?” asked Audrey.

“Much what she pleases,” I said. “She will have friends among other slaves. She walks, she visits. She exercises, she reads. Within limits she does what she wants to do.”

“Can she work outside the compartments?” asked Audrey.

“If it is permitted by the master,” I said, “and it does not in any way compromise her slavery.” I smiled. “Some women,” I said, “wear to their work the garments of a free woman but, when they return to their compartments, don as they must the silk of a slave, which is their true condition.”

“Is such a thing often permitted by a master?” asked Audrey.

“Commonly not,” I said. “Such a thing is often thought to compromise a girl’s slavery. It is usually not permitted to her. Usually she is kept as full and absolute slave, not so much as permitted to touch the garment of a free woman.”

“I would like my master to be like that,” said Audrey.

“Most masters are,” I said.

That much about "special permissions for slaves" to walk on the streets.

As many things slightly changed in SL Gor... distances do not exist... you can travel in seconds from the Ax Glacier to the Tahari... also "SIM borders" more or less do not exist. Masters travel at their leisure through all Gor... as they would "according to the books" walk through their city.

So why would you "bind" the kajirae to their "home SIM"?
They were allowed on Gor to spend time with their friends, to walk freely in their cities, to serve other Masters if they needed anything... so for the Priestkings sake, let your girls travel in SL Gor. If you want to die of boredom, go ahead... but don't force your kajirae to have the same fate.

Opinions?

Well, there might be RP reasons for them doing so in some cases. Might slaves not be used for spying? Might there not be a history of problems from wandering kajira in their sim?

Hmmm... a more pertinent RP question might be, what do kajira eat when they are away from home? Who feeds them and takes responsibility for them if they are injured? Who pays their medical costs? Might a slave not be impounded and put to work if it acquires such a debt?

Hmm, they return home each day just like the masters return home to the Tahari from a 30 minute trip to Ax Glacier. That's what I mean... why do Masters take the "right" in SL Gor to be able to travel at lightspeed... and do not grant the same "environment" to their kajirae?

I once met someone in Torcadino who would regularly wait 5 or 10 minutes next to the TP point "waiting" for a ship to arrive before leaving to go to another sim. Said it was good roleplay.

Surprised me at the time but I guess I can see the sense in it from a certain perspective.

Imagine if someone made a "travelling sim" full of sea and which had lots of ships in it and two docks?

Or...

What if the sims were mapped and you had to travel through the sims that lay between your starting sim and the one you were going to?  To aid this, each sim might have an entrance and an exit TP point, so you had to make your way across the sim.  If there were plenty of panthers and outlaws in the sim, this would naturally lead to people waiting for a group or "caravan" to form before taking off.

Some interesting ideas.

I can only speak for how I have treated a traveling slave.  She is welcome in the city as long as she obeys the rules.

I expect her to serve as a slave would.  I will punish her if I see fit and if she deserves to be punished.

Any RP that may be more adult in nature is neogiated in IM first.

Generally speaking if you treat someone with respect you recieve it in return.  Any Master that demands respect simply due to the fact he is male is not Gorean to me.

Aye, I handle that just like Adam.
A kajira that deserves punishment, will get punished.
If she does not like that, her Master is free to contact me.
