I started to kick off some role-play today in Minus where I began to scheme and launch a plot where I buy up all the flour that comes into Port though some of the Merchants in Minus and control who gets flour and who does not. I want to see where this goes and invite all to join in this very simple plot and spin your own plots of this that I hope will become "Treve Flour Shortage".  Think about the use of this one item, flour. Its used to bake bread, pies... stews for the gravy... this one item has many uses.  Now think suddenly this all gone....  I invite you all to role-play along with me.

One problem with your plan. What is to stop the Trevian warriors from going out raiding and bringing home bags of flour?

I'll be glad to be on board though!

Flour is a comodity folks. It is one of many comodities. While treve might raid for such goods, it is impossible to find all the needed goods on the raids, much less sufficient amounts needed to sustain a city. Trade with Minus is almost a must. Today its the flour, tomorrow it could be something far more valuable.

They can do that but Carter was going to start suggesting to the warriors when they do on a raid they actully rp what they take.   They could do role-play landing, go into a supply warehouse take the flour... this could actually be a reason for them to do a raid. Treve flour runs short.

With the RP of a warehouse in Minus to fence goods taken in a Trevan raid it would be AWESOME if the Raiders could RP what they take...... Now I know during a raid you dont have much time but perhaps when you return to Treve with your huge sacks you could then mention in RP what you have obtained!

Let me say to the Assassins...brilliant idea.  Brilliant. Historically wars were fought over things like flour.  You might be a baker but to think about the stable of bread..and as was already stated the use of flour to thicken stew.  As they already suggested it gives a reason to raid.  Warriors out searching starting roleplay with other cities.  Inquiring about grain shipments.  Not all, but cetatin most of the raiding from the warriors were for agricultural goods.

I believe this type of RP was mentioned so items would stop being pulled from people's pixel butts. I have done full RP in my RP server raids. It was fun to do plus, sometimes sims will ask you if you RPed it all out first, so good to have the NC ready and handy. Not all raids have to be battle ensued raids. They could RP going to a sim when there is one or two people there and sneak in to steal items. Like it was said (I think by Carter) Thentis for black wine beans, the KWC for bosk, Tyros for cherries (I think that was Xaz's mention). It makes for good RP and if you want to add prim items for "show and tell" Swashbucklers has a ton of good props free or very low cost. Though no transfer, if say, a group of us had these items in our inventories, could rezz them for the RP time to show a "physical transfer of goods" in the open instead of just relying on text. Just an idea...

Xas,
As a person who travels Gor "appropriating" items, I think this is a great idea.  If people would use these as springboards for future endeavors it could lead all kind of ways.
When I'm able to get on, I use goods that I've come into possession of from even two years ago that I've slowly disposed of to not arise suspicion, just as if it were RL.
So rp such as what you've mentioned can extend and provide fun for a while if it gets used.  I can't access SL where I'm at right now, but Ryen Constantine is operating a "trading" post of a more questionable nature.  Maybe he'd be interested in such rp.
Good luck and stay safe.

I plan to get with Ryen ooc and talk over some role-play for Minus...the problem I am having is The people who step up and what to be the Baker, leave or become slaves.  I am finding this rather annoying. Its hard to get the role-play kicked off when people won't be consistant and honor the role-play people have done.

Aii, I agree.  Though far away, if I can ever be of assistance, just let me know.
