Just a quick notice to let you know a tarn race festival is in the planning.  Lady Dove is busy making plans to host tarn races in the Village of Teslit.  Her track will be able to accomodate up to four tarns at a time!  As a further enticement, Lady Dove will be auctioning a rare exotic tarn at the festival.  The sale will be in lindens and will be contributed to the cost of Teslit's tiers.

We are looking at holding this event the first week in March.  Please check back to the forum as more details are worked out, such as date and time.

Oh I do have one serious question, how many competitors will be using Lady Doves supersonic Tarns ,and is it just a sprint race or does it involve turning and using hoops like ours did?

I sent messages to two postings dealing with musicians and singers asking for anyone willing to perform at the Tarn Festival. Once we have the date and time locked up we can see how entertainment fits into the event...possibly some Gorean Craftsmen/women want to sell their crafts as well.

Try contacting the Bard, Maeglin Velde. He put on a spectacular well attended show in Treve late last year with his evening of poetry recital, story telling and a dance (his slave dances whilst he performs musically.)

Some information:
There will be two races, one at 11am sl  and another at 7pm sl time.
The race track is a series of hoops, numbered, that allow four riders to compete against each other in a race- all four can fly at the same time, bump each other, overtake each other, just like a real race. Time and hoops gone through for each rider are logged and kept by the race track. It's a stunning program written by Patrik Ling of the Tarn house.
Any tarn can be used to fly in the race,
A racing track will be set up for riders to fly through for skill practice in a week prior to the race. The number of hoops can vary (part of the program),and we will determine how many hoops will be up for the actual race.
Prizes for the race will not be linden, and is still being determined.
