Please excuse the recent confusion and our lack of communication. MacKena, Sphere and I have been scrambling to reorganize.  Several events occurred beyond MacKena's control and it took some time for the dust to settle and to be able to know what we were dealing with.  In response to Ravenzeye's March 13th post, Carter Ebbage nicely summarized what occured. Unable to bear the immense cost of 3 sims, plans were made to sell Teslit to Sardar. Though saddened by the prospect, MacKena was consoled that at least the beautiful Teslit sim would remain "untouched" and that its people could stay together.  As you may know the sale fell through.  We were stunned!  A few days passed and a new buyer came forward.  Sadly a non-Gorean purchased it and so the beautiful village was leveled by the Priest-Kings.  It was decided to completely redo the remaining 2 sims . . .  not just it's looks and name . . but it's style of role play and its organizational structure as well.  A well-run By the Book Gorean sim takes an awful lot of commitment by MANY people, not just Admin.  Unfortunately, few SLoreans have the ability what with RL demands to commit to the time that is necessary to execute the various responsibilities that are required.  While we do NOT intend to stray from our By the Book Gorean values, we decided to lighten the organizational structure (as well as the load borne by the administrators) by creating "just a port", not a village.  We still will have high caste members, people with responsibilities, sim rules and such . . but we want the emphasize to be on having fun, getting educated about Gor and developing interesting role play scenarios . . not fretting about the structure and members vacating roles.  To spice things up we opted for a lawless river port that will attract the attention of raiders, brigands, thieves, and smugglers.  Our new rules and structure will grow as we develop as a new community . . . so be patient with us as we all learn.  Your part in this sim development in very important!  Your active participation is what will make the Vosk Valley Port be the type of thieving, larcenous river port we can all be proud of!

A thousand thanks to the many loyal people that have returned to role play with us.  And a special thanks to those that dug deep and donated lindens to help ease the financial burden that MacKena bears!!!!!     You people ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*tips Her head respectfully* well thank you Bethony ~ that is just what the doctor ordered (no pun intended) *smirks* I for one am happy to say I am still here .. thinking I'd come into the forums and see what if anything had been recently posted. My intent also to see if we will still have this forum or will we now go to another one named "Vosk Valley Port"?  I love the new ideas that you have shared and although I have nearly always lived in cities or villages with overwhelming laws and structure ~ I will now admit that the thought of some "lawlessness" has definetly "peeked" my interest. I look forward to seeing you all ~ *curtsies to her reader for perhaps one of the last times as she moves her thoughts to not acting so stuffy*

I share the enthusiasm of Lady Betony and our recently appointed Chief Physician for our new city of Vosk Valley Port.  The overarching theme of having some "lawlessness" will mean that Lady Raven will probably have more work to do.....and I will have much less!  I only hope that some of Lady Raven's additional work does not involve healing any parts of me!

*Mercy reduces all the written laws of Vosk down to what will fit on one scroll...and then proceeds to misplace that scroll.   Wink

*laughs at Mercy's notes*

FYI ~ I am pretty sure if there is lawlessness ... as Our newly appointed "Chief Scribe" you will still be called upon for all of the battles of wit regarding whats allowed and what we will impale for ... *laughs* I can however assure you that if I am fixing any of your "parts" I will be sure you have that writing hand and reading eyes always able and ready for anything that comes along ... would perish the thought you may get bored !!
