Red raises her eyebrow as she says, Carter, seguilah is the lovely dedicated city slut who served you I lost count of how many drinks and portions of fish during the Feast and nursed your head when you passed out delirously murmuring somethig like "mummy dont stick that there", poor girl after such hard work and you don't remember her name, mind you hardly surprising when you later donated the contents of your stomach to the fish in the river *winks*.

I do agree, changing slaves names from one week to the next is quite irritating, and laborously long ones, keep it simple but personal I say, can't stand names like cake, fluffy, twinkle toes or bunny just makes me want to heave and yes safi, you got a lovely name  Grin

There is only one explanasion I can think of as to why a free would change his name other than the name of his AVI , and that would be that they are trying to keep it real, by that I mean they have died a sad and tragic death some where some how, and I dont know of that many people that have come back from the dead I can only asume that when john died he rereturned as harry son of of john hence he looks just like john, well thats my take on the free renaming there selves any way.

As far as free are concerned, in the books a free may use an alternate name as names were considered protected information.  Lilith uses the name Alanya depending on who she is with and what part of Gor she is in, but the ones calling her by either name are aware of it.

"Moreover, Goreans are extremely sensitive about names, and who may speak them. Indeed, particularly those of low caste, even have use names, concealing their true names, lest they be discovered by enemies and used to conjure spells against them."

Can You All spell     r-o-s-e.   Was the name given to me when i first ventured into SL Gor and remains the same to this day.  i wish to thank All those from the past and hopefully Those of the future that don't feel the need to give me a name that not only i can't say but have to open up some browser to find the name to remember it.

There is a difference between the kiss of the free woman and the kiss of the slave girl; the slave girl yields to her master; the difference is unmistakable. It is said that he whose lips have never touched those of a slave girl does not know, truly, what it is to hold a woman in his arms.
