As a Scribe I was once challenged by a warrior for a slave I owned.  I told him I would agree to a Spelling B but a sword fight with a warrior?Huh

LOL I would have PAID to see that warrior's reaction to that !"

I'm kinda shocked no one mentioned the biggest sub division of the Red Caste...the division of Furrers. Since most Warriors would rather warm their furs with slave flesh than warm their swords with enemy blood....it's fitting, no?

Should warriors be ransomed? Is there any incidents where a warrior is ransomed or traded back within the books?

Ransom, from a book standpoint would be unlikely and would usually be reserved for those of high standing or certain political power.  I cannot recall much in the way of ransoms, perhaps Marlenus could be classified as that but its been long time since read that book.
Goreans tend to be very pragmatic and harsh in the ways of war.  In Tarnsman Tarl describes what usually happens when a city is conquered, all the Scarlet officers are slain, rest of warriors are killed or enslaved and sent to other places around Gor, portion of other city men are killed or enslaved, the most attractive women are enslaved and divided up with the rest of the plunder.  It tends to be the attitude of 'why would I let my enemy go free to just rejoin his people and attack me again?'

However, SL Gor is a different beast.  Few people in general want to RP out that negative side of the conflict, sure they'll do the cage and torture thing for a bit but most fully expect that in day or so they will be traded out and back home for dinner and paga.  Plus being killed or enslaved for the 10th time in a month would get a bit boring, and the ransom/trade aspect tends to bring in other members of cities into roleplay to carry out the discussions and exchange of goods.
SL Gor will never be close to 100% book Gor, need to pick and choose the best elements that fit with the SL world we play in even if it rubs against what a "true Gorean" would do.

That said I do like the idea of the kajirus fighting slave arenas out there that will take captives, Treve and Tancred's have one I beleive.  Those add a nice element and good twist to the usual cap and release program we have going on now.

There is a trick to the game of life. I still haven't figured it out yet but when I do.....I am so going to stand there as you lay curled up on the bed, a quivering puddle of sex
