The Assassin had done the hunt and now it was time for the Kill. Sending a messenger to the Great City of Treve for Lady Flame to meet him in Minus, he waited by the small bridge near the lawless village. Over the past few weeks he had won her trust to met with him now and then.

She was the Treve City Scribe and also the Banker. Her name was Lady Flame Aulder. He walked up to her as she arrived by tarn basket from the city. He smelled a strong odor of liquor on her. He thought to himself perhaps that was a good thing, it would make his work faster.

LadyFlame Aulder looks down near the bridge hiccups and covers her mouth. She carefully walks toward the bridge, afraid she might fall from too much kalana.  Xaz Elephas nods to Lady Flame, tilting his head slightly as he whispers, "Are you drunk?" LadyFlame Aulder: hiccups and laughs..."Nooooo" She stumbles forward and grabs the rail of the bridge. Xaz Elephas offers his arm, "Best to walk with me, Lady.” knowing a drunk lady would be in trouble with a warrior he leads her from the village, "We need to talk."

The Killer slowly walked her to the valley below Treve. He picked a nice spot. The grass was tall and blew ever so slightly in the breeze. A small flower bloomed here and there popping out from the carpet of lush green grass.  The sounds of small waves from the Thassa River lapped at the shore line. Yes, it was indeed a perfect spot to kill a High Caste Lady. One could even say the spot he chooses was picture-perfect.

LadyFlame Aulder, “Mm hmmm.” She walks away from the village with him. Xaz Elephas shakes his head, "Why are you drinking?" he said to her as she stumbles a little then straightens up. LadyFlame Aulder, "Umm...I  ...shhhh...” she puts her finger to her lips. LadyFlame Aulder, “Don’t tell anyo...anuyone.”

Xaz Elephas, "Do you know how improper this is for a Lady to be publicly drunk." he couldn't help but laugh, "I promise." He said. He would keep the secret of her state he thought to himself not even aware of how strange there conversation was that he would scold her for such a display before he would kill her.

LadyFlame Aulder hiccups again and covers her mouth. "I...haven’t had...thaaaaaat much."  She said. "That’s a nice dress... looks pretty on you." he didn't give compliments much. LadyFlame Aulder smiles to him now as she tries to make out his face more clearly, gives up and laughs. “Xaz...I should tell ya...Men...".she said it dramatically. Xaz Elephas pushes his hair back from his shoulder, "What about us?" LadyFlame Aulder, “I'm not..."...hiccups and looks at him, seeing someone else for a moment..."I think...I..." LadyFlame Aulder shakes her head as she nearly stumbles again..."I...I'm so sorry..."

"Flame, you can speak openly with me. I am known for keeping secrets well. What troubles you?" LadyFlame Aulder, "I'm nothing, Xaz." she manages..."I'm not worthy of..."...she hiccups and shakes her head as she tries to hold on. "I have a seeecre," she says finally...she laughs now then shakes her head, obviously distraught with it

The Killer could tell she was having trouble standing up; he reached for a small bedroll he had and rolled it out for her, helping her to sit down before she fell down. He crouched down before the women. He was a gentleman after all. As she sat upon the blanket as she went on to tell him her story. A story of secrets… A child born out of a companionship… A man forcing himself upon her…and a sister who was really her wasn’t her sister but… her daughter.

The killer listened to the women’s confession as he felt it would be good for her soul to get it all out before he killed her. Then she could die with a clean conscience. Her tears flowed now and then as she continued to tell him the story of who Maria really was. Once he had heard it all, he promised to never tell anyone her secrets. She also asked him if he would promise to keep an eye on her daughter.

It was as if without her knowing he was preparing her for her last few moments amongst the living. LadyFlame Aulder, “I have but one purpose on this Gor, Xaz.” she said her words now coming out not as slurred as she seemed to be sobering up. “I must protect Maria.” She blurted out to the Killer. He pulled out a rep cloth, reaching over to her a wiped the tears from her face, “You must swear to me, swear it by your honor and the Priest Kings, you will always protect Maria.”

Xaz Elephas, "I will promise you Flame, if you will in return do me one favor..." he looked upon her with his steel blue eyes, there was seriousness about him, and his words were sincere. His tone was calm, and if one had been listening in, his voice might had even seemed to show slight signs of compassion. She looked up at the Assassin with a serious expression, “What is it, Xaz?” she asked the killer.

He offered her a hunk of peppermint as she popped it in her mouth. Telling the killer it was her favorite candy. “Made them myself.” He said to her. She loved peppermint. The two were quite for a moment as the peppermint smell kissed the air around them. He watched her enjoy the candy.

He then handed her a black rose. “Close your eyes for me. Think about your daughter, how much you love her, and my promise I made to you tonight.” He said as he watched her face relax as peacefulness spread upon her features.

LadyFlame Aulder listens to his instructions then closes her eyes...she brings the rose to her nose then feels the petal's softness...her heart beats of her love for her daughter...thinking of Maria and her beautiful heart.

He leaned over and kissed her forehead. He drew his sword as he applied firm pressure to her throat he drags it across her neck watching as the skin opens wide, a pool of blood quickly forming around her. Her eyes opened as she looked up at him. The front of her dress turned to a bright red.

Xaz Elephas not satisfied with just the one cut; he flips the sword around so that the blades points downward and thrust the blade behind her neck. Quickly he pulls it out. "Rest in peace, Lady Flame. May the Priest Kings welcome you into the Land of Dust.”

Xaz Elephas watches her lifeless body lay limp on the ground  as he watched her chest rise and fall for the last time. “I will keep my promise to you.” He said to the dead women.

He turned and ran off into the woods, leaving the area.

23:16]  Mordachai Draegonne is out on his regular patrol, circling the skies above Minus and the secret passage to the city. He spots something blue on the fields beneath him then pulls on the strap and brings his tarn down to investigate...
[23:17]  Mordachai Draegonne: As he closes in, he sees that the blue object is, in fact, a woman, lying motionless on the ground. He decides to land and tell the lady to wake up, it being a dangerous place to sleep out in the fields with all the raiders and panthers about.
[23:21]  Mordachai Draegonne walks up to the woman, but as he gets closer, he notes that it is Lady Flame, the blood on her neck indicating that her throat had been slit - obviously foul play. He scans the area for clues and finds a bag of peppermints close to her. In her hand she is grasping a black rose. Not understanding the clues, he lifts her from the ground and ties her to his tarn then flys off with her.

Mord takes Flame's body to the Trevan infirmary...

[23:24]  Mordachai Draegonne: "A little help here!", he shouted
[23:24]  Malcomb Danitz runs up to Mord..."you need help?"
[23:25]  Mordachai Draegonne: "I found Flame dead, lying in the woods beyond Minus."
[23:25]  Malcomb Danitz: "Flame, dead?"
[23:25]  Malcomb Danitz: "Damn, how - the raid?"
[23:25]  Malcomb Danitz: "They wouldn't just kill her."
[23:25]  Malcomb Danitz: "Fina will burn, damn them."
[23:27]  Mordachai Draegonne: "Her throat has been slit, and she wasn't cold when I found her", he said, a grimace on his face: "It couldn't have been the raiders."
[23:29]  Malcomb Danitz: "Throat cut..." steps back "a killing." seems angry and then confused "why would anyone want her dead so badly?"
[23:30]  Mordachai Draegonne: "Who knows... I did find a bag of peppermints and a black rose near her. I wonder if they hold any significance?"
[23:32]  Malcomb Danitz: "We need to get the Ubar involved. She was a city official - her death must be avenged."
[23:33]  electra Rae craned her neck to have a look at the woman, the site of her slit throat sent shivers down her spine
[23:33]  Mordachai Draegonne: "Lets take her to the infirmary, unless you know of a better place to put her. Also, someone needs to warn Maria - she was her sister."
[23:34]  Malcomb Danitz: "And my friend!" stamps in a circle, anger now brimming. "elie get us both some paga, and be quick about it."
[23:34]  Malcomb Danitz: "The infirmary is best."
[23:34]  electra Rae: "yes my Master!"
[23:34]  Malcomb Danitz: "I am very fond of Maria, I can go."
[23:35]  Mordachai Draegonne nods, lifting the woman up in his arms: "As am I, she will be heartbroken. I will take her to the infirmary and meet you there."
[23:35]  electra Rae ran back, chilled bota slung over her shoulder, two footed bowls in her hand, panting softly, heart racing
[23:36]  Malcomb Danitz softly touches her face, affection sowing
[23:36]  Malcomb Danitz: "I will go with you to place her."
[23:36]  Mordachai Draegonne: "Alright"
[23:37]  Mordachai Draegonne gently puts the lady down on one of the beds, pulling the sheets over her head: "No need for everyone to see her like this.", he sighed.
[23:38]  Malcomb Danitz helps arrange her with dignity and respect, a proper postilion..."Join me in a drink, my friend."
[23:38]  Malcomb Danitz: "we can toast her."
[23:38]  Mordachai Draegonne: "Aye, I'll need a stiff one."

Mord and Malcolm leave after their toast of Flame's life...and Corth walks in after getting word...

[0:12]  Corthidian Belwraith looks to the Free Woman he recently met... and doesn't understand how someone could kill her... he looks down... and then looks up to the ceiling.. Cold be this day.. and warm in the Cities of dust.. is a smiling Face.. of a free woman.. of whom meant so much to many.. rest Well, Lady Flame.. you shall be missed.. more than you know..."... he sighs, and turns, remembering the sparkle he saw in her eyes just days ago when he was paid, and can do nothing but save the memory...

[0:14]  Corthidian Belwraith: "Tal, Free woman,"..he says as Saphire walks into the infirmary... Flame was a Fine woman."
[0:14]  Corthidian Belwraith: "Wind," he says...then nothing else but silence as he walks out...
[0:14]  Saphire Kamala: silently , almost tiptoeing, she entered the infirmary and swallowed hard, the air seemed eerie as she saw the warrior... barely able to speak, she simply nodded...
