I know this thread is a little old but couldnt help but answer the question. What role wouldnt I play? Hmmm I dont think there really is one that I wouldnt least try. Been a panther and that went over like a lead balloon, I couldnt hit the broad side of a bosk! Been a slave twice both times freed to my feet so have been a FW. Never tried She urt....hmmm maybe thats in Inny's future.

Oh wait couldn't roleplay a guy. Nope. Don't have a enough male ego for that role. But as for anything else my feeling is "why not? If its good RP and will keep me coming back then sure I am game for it."

Only two roles that I could not play....Female, either Free or Slave.  I tried it once in another sim just to see if I could.  I failed miserably, I cannot get myself into the female mind set.  The other role is kajirus.  Yes, I might get captured and even forced into a collar, but my owner would kill me as I am not a sub and would be openly rebellious.  Oh and Kurii, if I want to play a non human again, I will dust off my lycan account.   Anything else is pretty much open.

Kajirus in the books are non submissive men, usually... I think this role could be very interesting to play for a man, even a warrior, not definitely, but in a storyline, a part of the character's story.

Me, I couldnt simply play a man. In 4 years of SL Gor, I played a panther, a kajira, a bondmaid, and FW roles (usually low caste and Sasi is my first high born woman character, perhaps the last one that I will play).

Else, I don't want to play again a slave, not as a definitive character, in capture, it's different.

Mind you, I see this as a willing thing.  I have been capped and the battle of wills ensued and had some awesome RP because of it.

I like the general theme of Treve way too much, those merciless harsh raiders that didn't back down from their ways while the entire world scorned them. Those assertive, arrogant warriors that are as much a personification of the stereotypical behaviour of tarns (or eagles) as they're based on spartan culture and habbits. Like cornered animals holding on to their own traditions and their own habbits and giving a big sound "fuck you!" to the merchant laws and the other gorean cities.

I can't imagine anything more admirable and awesome in any kind of fiction.

I am a Northern Man, and can't see playing anyone else.  It is the North that interests me, so while I may travel to the south, I go as a Northern Man.

If captured, I would play a captured warrior call it what you would slave/thrall.  I would not RP a silkie: I would go naked or in rags before wearing something 'pretty'.

I would also not play cross gender.  Just couldn't do it.

About a year ago, this would have been easy. It would have been "panther girl," hands down. However, I began to give some thought to why exactly I not just disliked, but despised, panther girls and decided to set a challenge for myself. As there was some trouble with a runaway freight train Free Companionship, I took it upon myself to run away in-character. What better way to hide from my family and my FC than to become what everyone knew I would never become... a forest girl.

Not the "rofl u will wear my collar, male" type of panther girl, but an honest to god runaway FW who was desperate to leave the conventions of submission behind and to embrace being a woman surviving alone (not so alone... I took my slave girl with me, though I freed her and we were panther girls together) in the wilds. Learning how to hunt, to track, etc. I decided to do this after watching this video:

After exploring this role, my way, I am now convinced I could give nearly anything a shot. As long as it's a female role. I've never played a male role and have no desire to.

What role couldn't I play?

A male slave who has submitted. But that's about it.

I've tried my hand at quite a few roles but that's the only one that I'd balk at. If I'm playing a male, I can't play a kajirus. It would make my head explode.

I guess mine would be playing a slave , no offence to any one that does , but my persona is head strong and I just dont think I could get over the fact of being ruled, told when I could do something and when I couldnt , that haveing to ask someone if its alright to do this or that, other then that I cant think of another one

Being a slave is so hard - even trying it for a short time upped my role play - and gave me a massive appreciation for slaves
