Well said Jonathan.

When the Port appears weak in responding to potential threats and in its reactions to hostile actions we make ourselves a target.  Granted the Vosk Valley Port is a trading merchant Port, so there will be a large number of visitors.  However, while there is still life in Ven's chest he will not allow the Port to fall into a state like that village to the north called Minus being filled with countless criminals and lawless individuals.  No offense to Minus, but we can't all be like that.
The Ven that will be returning to the Port after his umm meditation will not be the same that was in the Port previously.
