I was recently jailed for stealing some documents, and, as part of my apology I promised the Ubar of Cos Baja Boa a Ballad to his sons misadventure, Aramis Sweetwater....

This must be read to tune of the Ballad of Sir Robin from Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the full effect...

The Ballad of Aramis of Cos..

Bravely bold Sir Aramis
Fell off the walls of Cos
He was not afraid to die
Oh brave Sir Aramis
Floating on a piece of wood
to the beach of great Ka'Zahr
Brave, brave, brave, brave, Sir Aramis

Maria and Dagger pushed and pulled
to get him into bed
Then the Lady Dove appeared
Sleeves rolled up to her elbows
Serene picked up his breeches
and the treaties hidden within
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

Kiya the slave espied the deed
and worried about the trial
She was quite afraid to tell
for fear of being tortured
But tell she did and and the word was out
Serene was already in Treve
Brave, brave, brave, brave, Sir Aramis

The treaties of peace were in the hands
of the Captain Grondar Quartz
Tyros and Harfax were allied with Cos
And Serene had now some Gold
A smile on her face she set sail for home
and smiled to the Lady Dove
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

Blackwine? said Dove as they sat in the Inn
Serene nodded with quite a smirk
A few sips and her muscles ceased
The fine cup was laced with tassa
Lady Dove chained her up
And dragged her to the jail
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

The Ubar made her strip to seach
The Slaver found her hairpins
Aizia cried to see Serene,
Without all her coverings
Maria was outraged, and tried to stop the show
But the Ubar ordered to gift her, in a bright pink bow
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

To Cos and to Jail
Went Serene to see Baja and Raani
Ginny gave her clothes and shoes
Brock hammered and nailed the door shut
She spent the night on a cot
Plotting ways to get out of the ear notch
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

The moons set and the sun rose
Next day she was questioned in depth
The truth was out, the Ubar was mad
and punched the wall of stucco
He took her out of the cell
and placed his boot on her backside
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis

Through the city she was kicked
Her bottom hot and on fire
Baja had big feet you see
And never missed, they all admired
To the docks she was led
Thrown on the ship in the port
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis...

His head was smashed in
With his tongue hanging out
His lips were dry
Saving his legs was in doubt
His eyes were red
And his arms were bloody
His face was burnt
and his skin was muddy

Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Aramis...

"And on the fifth day, they ate robin's minstrels... and there was much rejoicing"

I have this strange urge to watch Monthy Python's Quest for the Holy Grail again.

Grondar - I got away with a footprint and a bit of heat on my bum.  It was soon apparent the Ubar was a superstitious man and didnt seem to like the idea of the bad karma that would surely befall him for torturing a Musician.   Wink  Not a bad thing, Alexander the Great was too..

I had great RP with everyone involved - it was silly and serious in equal measures - my very favourite kind.  It branched off into a few other storylines which is fantastic, even one where the Lady Dove and Serene may be seen whispering furtively in corners......

And Mord.. and for those who have no idea who Sir Robin is.. this is the tune to which it is set, strangely, to what all my ballads are set..

Am available to write ballads and narratives to music for Free Companionships, Collaring Ceremonies, Sagas of War, and Assassinations by prior appointment.  No funerals.  They tend to be a bit depressing.

Aye, hence my remark. I blame you for putting that tune back in my head, but i thank you for sucessfully removing starman - david bowie. That song has been in there for 2 months now.

Pours a bit of her gift of Cos wine, she is very fond of gifts and her luxeries she indulges in constantly, and glances over the rim of her goblet and says with a small quiet smile to the wary ones sitting with her..

"Have a drink? You don't have to ever worry tassa powder, unless, of course..you have been up to nefarious deeds"

...and watches their reactions. Refusing to drink immediately, statements you don't care for wine, and she knows you're guilty- just a matter of finding out what, and if it's something she will dabble her long gloved fingers in.

The musician was well paid

Its true,  Lady Dove does indeed pay well ..  like on earth dog owners bear some resemblance to their pets.. Lady Dove without doubt shares certain traits with her Tarns.. the woman even takes her blackwine " strong, dark, and fierce..."

I really should have taken her character song of Poison by Alice Cooper a little more literally.....  "shakes her tassa powder headache*

Brave Sir Aramis ran away
Bravely ran away, away
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled...

You should see how lovely she reacts when they come posing naked on their tarns for her.

Growls something that sounds like GET DRESSED!

What I love about her ballad is that it is summary of all the events that happened in her roleplay!! and all the sidelines/stories that came from it.

I recommend hiring a musician more often *eyes glint*
These kind of ballads are the ones that should be sung more often in a sim...

flips a copper or two in the air thinking about who she wants one written about this time...
