Musician's Caste

I am a roleplayer, I try to stay BTB as much as possible within reason but my philsophy is that the books should not get in the way of fun rp.

There are so many things about the books that we simply cannot mimic easily in SL-Gor. Things like low castes not giving out their true name or the ratio of kajira to FW or how about raiders comming from a city several days march away in a few hours and then getting back there? I could go on and on but I won't.

That said there are some core rules about Gor that if a sim doesn't follow them, by rights they are not a gorean rp sim. These are things like having Female Outlaws or warriors (panthers being the exception though they are warriors in the sense of the caste and of cour you can have women born or FC into the red caste obviously), Female ruled societies (again I think there is one city that is an exception to this and obliously panther bands or tribes or whatever are female ruled), no slavery (basically the most basic part of Gor), and other basic thing that I probably don't need to mention.

If the books say something happened then great we now have a precedent to support rp. If the book doesn't mention something then that doesn't mean that it does not ever happen but it just means that there is no precedent for it so tread lightly and use reason. Flexibility is a virtue in any rp and Gor is no exception. No female assasins? Yeah I agree that's just silly but black wine can be found everywhere on SL gor so deal with it.
