Last night as I was digging through my inventory (all 50+ K of it) for Conall's request on old laws from a gorean land, I found some things that shocked me..Sl coughed up some stuff that has been missing...

an item created by Saba Collas
an item created by Sweetie Dagger
an items created by Stephan Nephilim

One was given to me by a devious she urt
The next was given to me when the owner was checking out the script
The last was lost years upon years ago...

What does Lady Adoveea Rau have in her inventory?
*yikes*
*gags Serene because she heard my scream of OMG*

*clutches the balcony of the Tarn House to stop herself from fainting in shock and horror*

"WHAT??? .... what are you doing with THAT!" she stammers, her jaw dropped, a trembling finger pointing at one item in particular..... "Wont they want it back??" she stammers.... then tries to yell "mmmmppphggghhh" as she is gagged....

Organization, people ... organization!  The key is to get organized and then STAY organized.  Folders upon folders with folders upon folders inside the folders upon folders ... and labels ... labels are important .... and don't forget categories ... you ... MUST ... HAVE .... CATEGORIES .... *mumbles incoherently*

Mine is meticulous lol,  its a bit OCD I think - the only person I've met who is worse than me is Mord!
We have had whole conversations about organising our inventories...     *mutters something about needing to get out more*

Infact I recall Pay offering to pay me to log on as her and sort out her inventory Cheesy
(I'd do it for free cos the thought of such disorganisation makes me come over all Monica from Friends)

This is true, sadly enough. I have subfolders for my subfolders, an extensive collection of well over a hundred outfits for Gor alone, all named and set up with weapons, hair, meters etc etc. And yes, i too have offered people to work on their inventory for them.

Sounds too organized!! But it was a shock to me when I discovered those items, because some of them have been missing for some time. Second life have a data recovery or something?? I have things in my inventory I've not had since July 2007!!!

Saba Collas was the name of the creator on the homestone of Talbot which was stolen by the she urt in Minus in 2008. She brought it to Rask and me. The sim dissolved/left/disappeared before they could expand on that roleplay.

I'm not overly organized, but I do keep things straight for the most part.  However, I don't know how you could have so much.  The most I've ever had in my inventory was about 15,000 items, and that got cut in half when I emptied my trash.  Grin

I took an inventory organization class about a week ago, and it had some good points.  I got my inventory of 15,000 reorganized, and all set up properly to keep it that way, but now... just a week later, i find that if i don't go through it every day or two, it won't take long before it gets messed up again.

I have the notecard for that class if anyone wants a copy.  I suppose it is ok to give it out, since it was a free class.

First thing i was told when i came to sl was "Make folders!!". No wait, im lying. The first thing was "Do not accept bloodlines requests,.. and Make Folders!!".

So i started with a folder for clothes and a folder for landmarks. the clothes were split into pants, shirts, full outfits, shoes, jewellery. Later each of these got several subfolders.. I have a complete folder for Gor. Subfolders in it are outfits, collars/etc, rezzable stuff, etc etc etc. Each of these has numerous subfolders.

My landmarks are similarly folderred, sorted on the type of sim/shop. Whenever i buy stuff, i make sure to place it in the right folder. If i dont, it will start messing up and its a pain to go back to an organised inventory.

One thing i never have (much) trouble with is finding anything. I typically remember the names of most of the stuff i have bought, and if not i will know in what folder it must be, heck.. even my furniture is sorted by room. Everything that doesnt have a specific place or category it will fir under, goes into Misc. I have one of those subfolders for most all categories. Yes, i am OCD. Hell, i can sit there positioning a painting for an hour to make sure its lined up just right. On the other side, it does make my sims and livingquarters look nice, since im meticulous in decorating them in detail... at least, thats what ive been told by people who have seen my sims. Yes, im this organized at my workplace too (when i had one), but strangely enough.. my room is a mess most of the time, even though i know where everything is! I mean, geez, you gotta sort those hundreds of DVD's by category!

Mine is totally unorganized...

never sorted a single item and I'm sure I've a ton of copies of certain things...

Last time I tried sorting my inventory I accidently deleted all my Treve silver coins...
