just had a thought on this ,, how many times has a person played in a certain sim , and ALL these people just bombard you with friendship request and then you for some reason or another have to leave or you chose to leave and you come back and find that several have taken you off their friendslist when you did talk to them or if you didnt that much was out of respect because you knew they were bombed with IM's all the time.. To me its like telling someone ,, you an't crap to me if you dont play on my sim , which is just down right RUDE if you ask me ,, I would Reather for you NOT to even put forth the effort of even sending me a friends request if that is the type of mentaility a person is going to have. and yeah I know bunch's are going to pop up with this , Ohhh well maybe was just cleaning out friendslist ,, you know I have 3 characters here in SL , one has been here since 06 and NOT one person have I taken off her friendslist until I check and see that they are no longer in sl ,, and Most every single one of them I remember how I met them ,, and that goes for the other two also

To be honest, I dont think I've EVER pruned my friendslist.  I know I've come online and see the notification saying "X has come online" and I cant help but think "who is X again?  oooh yah I was at Y sim with them 2 years ago"  I do however remember seeing someone again and getting another friends request from them and start thinking "you removed me?"

I've been an active participant in SL for years.  Since day one, I have collected a vast number of friends; some of the names on my list are distant and rather faint memories while other names roll off my tongue daily.  I've connected with multiple people from all over the world and have made some fantastic real life friends that I just adore.  We use SL as a way to stay connected.

Over time, I have 'purged' my list ONCE.  I went through each name, read the profiles, checked the groups and made my decision to delete them because it was obvious our connection was one of those random things.  You know, a request to buddy-up hits my screen and I simply cannot reject the offer since it feels rude.  Anyway, if it is evident we have not or will not stay in touch, I remove them from the list.  Nothing personal ... but like I said ... I have only cleared the "who is this guy/gal" from my list once. 

For the most part, my SL friends ping me pretty often!  Maybe that is why my messages get capped.  Freaking frineds!

Funny, the other day, I was lingering at the hub, I had a nice conversation and, I rarely accept requests that soon  but I thought, what the heck.So I accepted.......then.utter silence.Being the cheeky bum I can be I IMed him, teasingly, so I said.. Hey your on my list, we are friends.winks.Boy that went wrong.He said .I had no attention of speaking to you again.I then said .well ok fair enough, would you mind then if I take you off list when you go offline.He then got very upset, saying how rude I was and took me off his list while I was still online.
I like a small friendlist, because I like to remember who is who on my list.I ping often to friends, just to let them know I have not forgotten them.

humm he said YOU were Rude ? ok thats as bout as weird as the friends request I got a couple days ago ,, group chat is OOC ,, IM's are OOC unless other wise stated before hand ,,, a Master did not like what I had said in a group chat ,, IMED me and started asking me questions as to where I was and stuff and of course I did not tell him ,, he keeps make threats of what he is going to do to me ,, I keep telling him that this is OOC ,, he then turns around and tries to Befriend me ,, uh Dudh ,Dude , NOO way after you made the threats of what you were going to do to me ,, I DONT think so ,, My title might say slave but it Sure as Hell doesnt say STUPID up there

I prune mine once in awhile, usually if i havn't talked to them in forever and I see that they hide their online status from me off they go, though I do have some that I leave on just because, as I know they still get in touch with me they just tend to go into hiding from time to time so they can rp in peace. But I do try to wait til they are offline to take them off as I do hate that pop up saying you have been removed.

I sometimes hide my online status from friends just to keep them from having to see me pop up, and down, and up... especially those that I haven't talked with in an extremely long time.  It isn't meant to hide from them due to any other reason...

I need to prune mine. I look at some of the names and have no clue who they are. You would think for a Master Assassin people would be leary to add me to there friends list but there not.  I get hit up at least once a day to friend someone.

I prune mine on occasion, but mainly to remove customers that were only on there temporarily while I was working on a signature or seal design for them.

I have dropped a few people off of my list.  Normally it is due to not having seen them online for over a year.  On one occasion was due to someone who had been a "friend", who then decided to grief the sim I was admining for.  Actually booted and banned him from the sim then dropped him from friend list and muted him....other than that, I gots lots of folks on my list.

I had such an experience lately, someone had left our tribe and I saw him online, when suddenly he deleted the friendship. I IM'ed him, if something was wrong. His answer was "I left the tribe and I don't find it necesary to keep friends there". I was flabbergasted.

People add and remove me lots.  I don't really worry about it unless it was someone I called a -friend-.  Perhaps they could categories things to save me scroll time for "people I have on my list because I"ll probs need to talk to them at some point an it's easier this way" and "people I enjoy social chatter with when time permits".  I should sit down and likely clear out as there are some I've not been in contact with IC or OOCly with in well over a year, but, I don't want to find that I've upset another nor give myself more work (if that were the case I would start with my inventory first).

I always accept friend requests (on SL), just feels mean not to -  but I'l love to be able to have a group called 'randoms' like I do on FB

Ok I have lots on my list that know I will never talk to again who added me when was under cover in disguise to get close to my mark. Yes I could delete them but believe it or not I am not a killer in RL but a caring person. Ok stop laughing it's true.... I said stop laughing or I will slit your throat.
