Noticed some debate and discussion about wars, involvements and the role of Treve

As we all know.. Treve is nominally at war with everybody in some way or another

To put some perspective to this, here are some background aspects to consider about people and Book related aspects

Treve has a very aggressive stance towards Ar.. this is based on many reference to past wars between the two cities, the capture and holding of Marlenus (Ubar of Ar) in the Pits of Treve etc... so very unlikely to ever support or engage with Ar directly.

Treve (SL IC) maintains a strangle hold on a village under the rule of Ar, Minus.. to all purposes Minus "should" be ruled and protected by Ar.. however, we have adopted the principle that Treve actually controls this village...

Tyros - Galahad and many others IC came from Treve or have past interaction with the city.. they have tarns originally taken as chicks from the Voltai region..so a possible link and past relationship there

BTB Treve (under Captains such as Rask and Terence) offered their services and men as mercenaries to other cities to assist in war. Under the leadership and control of these cities... Treve was used by Port Kar as tarnsmen against the Cosian Islands.

I am sure there are many other aspects of BTB examples of interaction with other cities from the perspective of aggression, trade, co-operation which others can add too. Also, given nature the past RP, perhaps elements of relationships driven by past RP and encounters would also lend itself to drive the nature of Sim interaction with Treve.

any other examples to consider Huh

Dove and I did try to hint a while back at some possible RP for Treve, but it wasnt picked up on.. at least not by Treve..  the Ubar of Tarnwald when you were at war with them was VERY interested though...  for now.. it still remains hidden...   Cool

Dove - Files her nails and mentions OH so casually for anyone reading this, and who read my posting on inventory...
"Oh by the way? that rumor about the treve homestone from 2007/2008 ? rumor has it might travel into Ginger's hands-who was often a merchant for the Tarn house, seems there is a light fingered musician called Serene who also has a talent for passing things on for the right price".

Serene - Takes another peek at that Treve homestone Dove had shown her, and more importantly, its hiding place....  and wonders who would be interested in such a thing...  surely Dove would be in danger keeping a hold onto that... *thinks a moment*..  it would be much safer for her if I take it away and hide it somewhere else ... or even sell it if its important to someone.. after all - its not doing much just hidden away... and with the new move to the Rose Isles for us... more coin to spend at that fancy merchant Safira IS needed.....

interesting but who took this homestone and how did Dove come to have it , also whatis the thing we call a homestone in Treve? is it not the real one? , what do we tell the citizens who have been swearing to it? , all questions that need answering, do we see Dove? or come looking for that crooked musician?

Good question due to Fina had Treve HS and Carter paid us BC to get it back and we did and Fina even called it vaild.  Undecided

This was the original thread....

http://www.gor-sl.com/index.php/topic,4295.msg33438.html#msg33438

It was quite funny, as we meaning to drop hints about what Dove had and I hid...  ...   and it completely turned around into a discussion on inventorys lol... we laughed a lot at that... haha

I suppose... you shall have to look at the *crafter* of the homestone you have now Grondar....  and compare that to the *crafter* of the one Dove hinted at in the thread...  as for who to speak to..   I really couldnt say which one of us has it in our possession now..  Wink

Ahhh the fate of the Treve homestone  Grin

are you sitting comfortably I shall begin....

Welllll...

The very original HS of Treve was taken before I became Ubar

I picked up a stone in the mountains and claimed it was the real one and tried to kill and blackmail anyone who said differently.. seems my plan worked huh ??

The HS has been hidden, stored in various locations at times of danger.. Cor Tarrant.. (Trenzo) actually had it for several months and finally returned it, swearing his loyalty to Treve... he is now in Ar and possibly could be a spy for Treve given this act of swearing his loyalty to Treve.

Xaz is correct... Fina stole the "fake" HS and Xaz and other BC recovered the Treve HS, despite Fina declaring his work invalid, we continued with his excellent RP to get back the fake HS ..at the time Fina had a Homestone that was considered to be half a mountain, chained down by industrial strength steel and needed 5 tarns to lift it.. which considering they only allowed 2 tarns in the sim made it a nightmare to steal IC.. Wink

with me so far Huh

When I was desposed as Ubar, I took the Homestone, used it to negotiate various concessions and Malcomb was involved in returning the HS back to Victor.. and I wasnt killed .so happy days

Sooo... IC there is a rumour the one currently in the Ubars office isnt the real one, and the very very orginal HS may actually be held by an ex Treve citizen ... possibly Dove, possibly others..

ahh but remember Pay , Carters .....er.........Mental state hasnt been too stable  in the past so who knows which homestone is real , actually it doesnt matter becasue if I recall correctly Bosk in Port Kar simply did as Carter did and claimed the homestone was there all the time and just had not been found yet , so I think the one we have IS the real one (follow that ? cos i am not explaining it)

Ummmm no Grondar..  the one you have isnt the real original one..  whether it matters or not to you though is a different question entirely...   Wink

The difference with Port Kar is that it never had a homestone before..   Treve of course.. did.

Durning the Black War when Merc Battery took Treve and the Homestone, it was Koh who found the Treve Homestone and returned it to the then Ubar. This happen back in Oct of 07

As I did, I saw one of the assassins come forward, holding a scorched stone. I screamed, running to the side.
The Ubar stepped forward and embraced him as a brother.

That would be the one Xaz  Grin  Of course earlier than this,  Koh, as a guard before a Killer, would be stationed to protect and look after the bratty young Dove as she grew up in Treve

(I am soooo going to write Tarn Breeder of Gor one day.... oh, and I think kudos to Carter for his blackmailing and killing and that this *secret* only comes to light after he is desposed )   Grin

I assure that is was very real "like".  It was rock and everything.  I still have gold hidden all over the sim.
