Well, I heard a rumour that the next book is now completed, and Tarns are making the biggest comeback since Blood Brothers with artillery and air cover provided by the Tarn cavalry trained by Tarl.   What is the purpose and who are the targets of the Amphibious Assault ships and Ubars of the Skies? Am I sad for getting excited about it?    Hooray !!    Grin

Its out but I don't want to post any spoilers but some new stuff for my caste. I really think JN plays Gor Sl cos he stole some things from BC that we already have been doing. Guess its nice now to have it offically in the books.

I think his ghost writer does hence the introduction of the use of "green caste" in Swordsmen.

If you ask me, that's not the first time he's ever used a ghost writer.

At his last interview he claims he writes them all himself. No ghost writer. Heck look at Betty White she almost 100 and still sound minded.

I think up to book 26 he did write them all himself but following that I can see a distinct style change which can't be caused by just the normal editor review but of course that is just my own theory :-).

I honestly don't believe that the same man who wrote Tarnsman of Gor wrote Marauders of Gor.  Tarnsman was so much better in terms of style and flow and I've always found it baffling how any writer could actually get worse as time goes by.

I think it takes reading the first 13 to know that he did indeed write them all. I also recommend reading them in order because they are very integral even if many people read them as a stand alone and then try to go back.  It's like watching the ending of a movie and then going back to the beginning in some ways.  Those first 13 (minimum first 7) are all part of painting the gorean realm.  Each book provides yet another piece particularly with the introduction of new cultures.  Nomads is just as different from Tarnsman as Maruaders but they should be because they are vastly different regions.  Imagine a book on the US compared to a book on the Japan.  They will naturally look nothing alike even if written by the same author.  The people, climate and culture are different.  I think the first deviations/clarifications in his writing style and the "truths" of Gor comes in the Jason Trilogy but in some ways those later books actually make the genre easier to play in SL.

hahah I'm with you. I'm half way through 12 (Beasts of Gor) and I skipped over awhile back and read 19 (Dancer of Gor).

Yes, I definitely agree. The reading is much more enjoyable when read in order! I love the sea and can't wait to get the new book. I suppose I could be reading the books rather than reading this forum.  Shocked

Nooooooo!  Not another one!  Laughs.  I've been reading the books in order (in Book 22 now which is Dancer of Gor) and until I finish the series, I'm not reading other books.

Norman better not cack until he writes Physicians of Gor.
