Hi, I am Persis – also named Umbra.

I have lived, loved and hated in Treve/Minus since august last year as well as being a ‘blind passenger’ on this forum, so I thought it was about time to step forward here as well.

I was given my name by Caden, because I have been a bit of a hider also in RP, having spent a lot of time in the dark. My first many weeks were a lot as an observer, because I was scared to death to join this group of amazing good roleplayers, who could write stories just out of the blue, like others drink coffee.

It all started with me reading Captives of Gor. At that time I was pretty done with rp, but that book inspired me enormously and still does – its never ending!

I entered the sim, naked and hungry and seeked the candy shop to get some food. My story was I was captured on earth and taken to Gor on a spaceship, I managed to get away and ended by the Vosk in Minus. Frost force collared me and then taught me how to kneel and be afraid of the gorean men, Lina taught me not to trust other slaves and Tarlyn taught me that free women are the best! - at least untill Lina was freed (so did Payton but that was in IM - always caring and asking me if I was ok – thanks Payton!) and finally Mal taught me the pleasure of being a slave Grin

The new entry on a sim is always easy, the difficult part comes when you have to go find new rp on your own and that was extremely difficult for me as well.

I was very, very shy, I didn’t think I was good enough, I am a slow writer and what else could I give as good reasons for myself to no just join in?

After the bad excuses about myself, I started becoming annoyed by everybody else–  I found the free uncompanioned women had more sex then the slaves grrr. There were many cliques and people did only play with their friends. I was choking in thought emotes and the only attention you get as a city slave is, when you are told over and over again, you are to wear that horrible camisk and to be a ‘waitress’ – BAH – but in the end, this was all about me NOT the sim. Again just bad excuses for my own fear! Grin

All the above did eventually make me mad and when I get mad and irritated I act and this again lead to the next phase of my life on the sim. Umbra started to not be so perfect. She got the idea to make her breasts bigger and the only way she could do that would be to steal muffins from the Inn – this lead to great rp with Ely, as she was mislead to think the same and a great and deep friendship has grown, even beyond SL.

Umbra had the idea at some point, she wanted to become a panther and now has a bow hidden by the campfire behind the tarn house – this again has led to a lot of rp also with some panther, both in the fun way but also a bit dangerous – especially when Caden patrols on tarn.
+ all the other small things she has going around with people.

I also found out where the other slaves go, when there are not rp enough for the city slaves on the sim and followed their example; bought a FW dress and now I visit other cities as well. The funny thing is that I hardly ever miss rp at home anymore, which is amazing!

So, why didn’t I leave, when things were so difficult, just give up?

I was close many times. One day working in Minus I was captured by outlaws. Shocking news were to find out they were GE. My first and only experience with GE followed now for a week. I have no limits so I decided to honour the rp, with the intension to runaway as soon as I could. One week in raid upon raid, free women wearing earth clothes and behaving like slaves, slaves looking and behaving like children – one even sucking on a pacifier all day long. Bad or non existing rp, IMs saying ‘Next time bring vaseline because I will fuck all your holes and also your nose!’ errr??

This really was an eye-opener!! So after a severe beating for trying to run away, I finally managed and returned home and to see the docks in Minus again, which really made Umbra’s heart burst as well as my own in RL - i think you really have to be in love with your home to understand what i mean  Cheesy

So I am here for keeps – whether you like it or not, with the lesson learned – never to blame others for your boredom, if you want rp then Go get it!

Thank you all who has role-played with me, invited me in, waited for my slow emotes and for you whom I call friends, I look forward to see you all ‘back home’ again soon!

Awesome!  You managed to figure out in a relatively short amount of time what others never quite figure out!

There's always a bit of a transition time when you enter a new community.  No one else is responsible for your role play or your fun.  Some players are blessed with alot of charisma and very extroverted, others come in with a very smashing storyline that tickles the fancy of many and draws the role players to them; however, for every one of the dynamo's out there, there are ten who have a bit of a shy bone. Nothing that time won't cure.  Time to develop your persona/history with others and then we "melt" and blend very naturally into the role play pot . . .  erm . . rather like RL!

I look forward to meeting you in role play Umbra!
