...for all the effort you put into your emotes to please us.
...for allowing your limits to be pushed and for doing things you normally wouldn't do for us.
...for accepting all the poor treatment you never deserve ICly and in some instances, OOCly by ignorant fools.
...for being cookie-cutter and creative.  We need both of you.
...for crying over us in Skype when we lie or deceive you.
...for camming and voicing with us, even when it made you feel uncomfortable.
...for all NCed chores even when you didn't want too.
...for waiting for us to pay attention to you even though we have ignored you all evening.

Im a bit puzzled, there....  Because there, you are thanking people playing slaves who accept with a smile, some abusive OOC behaviors and demands, poor RP etc.... As if it was positive for them, to accept that....  A few examples:

Personally, I wouldnt thank slaves for that, just suggest them to find a sim when they do not have to endure that, when they will find good and non boring RP. Because for me, people play a slave role for their own fun, not for serving the RP of those playing FM and FW, in sacrificing their own fun.... Expressing gratitude encourages slaves to tolerate OOC abuses, IC/OOC mixing and poor RP. ...

But well, maybe I didnt understand well the sense of your post, though....

All I can say is Wow. Thank you Suyuan. It is nice to be told everyonce in a while that you are appreciated for little things like the efforts you mention here, instead of always being told that we are attention seeking princess sluts with poor attitudes. In the same vein, I would like to thank all the Free who have taken time to RP with me, and other slaves, beyond the traditional "serve, suck, sex, shut-up" scene that is the usual norm.

I think what she is saying is many of us slave players allow things to happen to us to make our Master/Dominant happy and we do not even get an acknowledgment of thanks.

Do i like being pushed into ooc voicing/camming - NO
Do I like being told to abuse my body to make him happy - NO
Do I get thanked when I agree to do it to make him happy? - NO

For me, this experience has been a test of what and where my limits lie and made me even question whether or not I am really a sub. Please don't take this as a poor pity me post cause its not. Frankly I am glad I experienced this and in the safer context of a virtual environment. In the end it will make me understand myself better and the kind of man I want in my life - virtually and real.

Sorry Elle, I disagree. There is no reason to thank people for letting others abuse them on an OOC level or giving them poor RP. Suyuan didnt talk about private masters, not about a private OOC relation between a master and his slave, but about all frees in general.

It would be fair to notice that people playing slaves accept, sadly, crap and abuses, but there is no reason to thank them for that, because it pleases to these ones.

If you thank them, you make of their acceptance, something positive. And yes, that disturbs me, because in this list, there are points which should be denounced. I do not see any denounciation, there.

It is nice to feel appreciated. The occassional "good job" IM, means more than people think. To me this tends to get overlooked, because on lots of sims, the slaves outnumber the free. At the end of the day, we are all her because we WANT to be here. We love the rp no matter what role we chose to play. It's nice to know that everyone is appreciated. Slaves are slaves..yet ooc we are people behind the keys just the same as the next.

gahhh..haven't we all heard that at some point, either about ourselves or someone else. You wiggle to much, show TO much fire, or you emote TO much..and yeah  well i wont get into all that.

Now all that being said..let me point out that I refer to IC...not OOC. I play a slave IC because thats what I want to do.  All the OOC that is mentioned..well its the persons choice to go OOC. Personally, no one is gonna make me do a damn thing OOC that i dont want to. I know where the log off button is, and i sure as hell know where the mute button is.

OOC we are all created equal. So thanking slaves on behalf of the free is a bit silly to me....but be that as it may. Even if I accept the sentiment - I would certainly not say thank you for the above mentioned! I would tell all role players to not do anything that is OOC or rl that makes them feel uncomfortable.

Nothing wrong with doing OOC and rl things if all parties are into it....but doing is when it makes one party uncomfortable is not acceptable. People should be warned of such behavior and not praised for it.

Well, maybe I am a lone voice here, but I actually prefer a Master that DOES push established boundries and makes me feel uncomfortable.  But then again, I know when to say .. stop.  Perhaps not all slaves/submissives do.

I am also not afraid to say no -  but for me to say I don't fear losing the friendship I would be a complete liar.  I have said no and lost one but I think in the long run I will be much better off.

@ Elle.  I understand what you mean, but really, you are correct I believe to look at it that it will be better in the long run.  Not all Masters and slaves are right for each others needs.

While I appreciate the sentiment and I do believe that much of the success of SL Gor rests with slaves and former slaves I can't help but wonder if this condones a victimization that shouldn't even exist unless there is an OOC relationship that really has little to do with RP.

All of those are personal choices and have nothing to do with Gorean RP.  If a person embarks on an OOC relationship then I would hope the normal rules for any relationship apply and that would include open communication and mutual respect.  I am always puzzled why people believe this is the price they have to pay for RP but then again I also believe there is an unspoken hypocrisy regarding the split of IC/OOC.  Many are quick to throw out disparaging remarks about lifestyle sims and yet they conduct their own personal M/s relationships in the same fashion with their own slaves and RP Partners.
