A personal pet peeve of mine, now lets think if this was the Gor Norman created, would a slave carry around an important legal document on her thigh or would a collar with her and her Master's name suffice?  Besides its one more attachment making me laggy and, the main reason I dislike them, it never matches my outfit.

Which leads to another point, why is it that a Free Woman can move around more freely than a slave, after all we have already lost out freedom ...

blah blah blah enough of my ranting, Im really only posting because no ones on : P

Slave papers are somewhat of an aberration aren't they? Surely such things are kept track off by the Scribes Office in most cities anyway?

Besides which, if someone from a foreign city sees a lone slave, reads the collar and doesn't fear the owner, they'll just steal them anyway. The Slave Papers aren't going to stop them. Especially as they can always be forged.

Why are Free women more free than slaves? Ideally they need to travel in the company of bodyguards or retinue. There simply isn't enough people online to make up such a retinue most times so they're exceptionally lucky if they can find even one friend who's around to escort them when they travel from city to city. Slaves, on the other hand, would never realistically travel from city to city by themselves!  Anyone finding an unescorted foreign slave would just swoop them up, rename them and either sell them on or sequester them in their own house. Fear of the lash would keep them from returning to their old homes.

I stopped wearing these slavepapers a while ago. They are nowhere mentioned in the books - not that a slve is wearing them in her/his body - the name of the owner on the collar is enough to display that the slave is not unowned and who is his Master.
There is no need for other Free than the owner to know more about a slave - why should they care?

I guess those documents are better off in a drawer of the masters desk (if he has one  Wink)

I don't know if that is right - would a honorable gorean man steal a slave? I mean, i know there are thieves that do such things even as a business but those arent very honourable... But a proud gorean wouldnt just steal a slave - he  would challenge the slaves Master to a duell if he wants her, but to steal a slave i think is beneath a mans dignity.

I totally agree, lil one.

These message-holders at the leg of a slave are good to send a message to another town - while the arms of the slave are cuffed on her back!

Difficult to travel to another town with hands cuffed on back :-)

And i agree to Madras, a honorable Gorean wouldnt steal a slave. He would challenge the owner or would try to buy her.

And if its a thief, it doesnt matter whether she wears a collar, a slave carriere or pink boots..he would steal .

Maybe it's more important that you have no chance to read the important papers yourself! And you should be glad that I don't shave your head to write it to your skull... ;-)

* Nadja Avalanche looks astonished and upset.
Master, do you really think i would read a message that isnt to be read ? It looks like you dont know me very well or you have bad experiences with your girls, i dont know. I would never do that. And if you intend to use my body in that way, that you write messages on it, its up to you to talk with my Mistress about..smiles softly.

Even if you won't read it, the cuffs are very good to let your feel your slavery, girl!

Yes Master, of course you are right. Beside that i dont need any thing to remind me to my slavery except the chain that is around my heart. No metal chain, no metal collar, nothing would be able to hold me that strong like the strongest chain of all does, its called love.

Back to the topic of the "Slave paper Carrier".

As much as I hate this thing, it has become an SL-Gor "institution".
As many slaves are allowed to travel in Gor in the time that the Master is not online, many cities / SIMs have adopted the rule that a slave without collar AND visible papers can be captured. So to save my girls the trouble of being captured in other SIMs I give them a slave paper carrier as soon as the slavepapers have been copied (the Oasis of Four Palms even recollars kajirae that do not wear the papers and do not tell them right away their owner).

I just makes my life and the life of my kajirae that much easier.

oO. Really ? Ohh Mistress, may i visit the oasis ? pleeeeeaaasee..i want to see that..giggles.

But that is bs. All over Gor the collar identifies the owner, more detailed in the profile. Yes we shouldnt read profiles, but its usual if a girl describes her status and owner in her profil, that this is taken as slave papers. The leg things arent necessary and they are disturbing, cause some of them sends message that they are worn, everytime when coming in chat range..annoying.

Beside that, i dont remember slaves carrying their papers with them in the books.

*nods and smiles..yes you may not find them in the books but as your mistress said unfortunately it became a "SL-Gor institution"...so it is one of those things you may find in sl-gor without any connection to the books and you can choose if you want to be safer or not*winks
