Hi all!  Grin

I thought it might be fun to post some quotes you think you will never see RP in SL Gor due to contradictory quotes, or contradictory personal preference of the players. I'll use this one from Assassins as an example of what I mean.

""Slave girls who escape masters or some free women, who will not accept the matches arranged by their parents, or reject the culture of Gor, occasionally flee to these forests and live together in bands, building shelters, hunting their food, and hating men; there are occasional clashes between these bands of women, who are often skilled archers, and bands of male outlaws inhabiting the same forests; hardy Slavers sometimes go into the forest hunting these girls, but often they do not return; sometimes Slavers simply meet outlaws at the edges of the forests, at designated locations, and buy captured girls from them; interestingly, at other locations, on the eastern edges of the forests, Slavers from Port Kar meet the female groups and purchase men they have captured, who are used as galley slaves; it is not too uncommon that a Slaver Warrior has entered the forest only to be captured by his prey, enslaved, and eventually, when the girls tire of him, be sold, commonly for arrow points and adornments, to Port Kar Slavers, whence he will find himself chained to the oar of a cargo galley."
  Assassin of Gor  pg(s) 294-295

I have bolded what I see as the part you will rarely if ever RP BTB in SL Gor. I am interested in seeing some others that you would like to see RP, or why you think they wont be.

Happy posting!  Cheesy

True enough that.

Just like you won't find any guy RPing how a slave cut of his hand or throat, even if it happened in the books. Tongue

Kait - the Drug Lady - Joint Owner of T&S in Ar

Oh I have one!  If Port Kar ever is created in SL as described in the books I will absolutely play a FW character like Ludmilla!

Quote
Mercenaries of Gor
The Tunnels was one of the slave brothels of Ludmilla, for whose establishments the street, the Alley of the Slave Brothels of Ludmilla, is named. She does not own all the brothels on the street, incidentally, nor the best of them, in my opinion, nor even the majority of them. It is only that several of them, five, to be exact, are owned by her, whereas no other entrepreneur owns more than two, this accounting apparently for the derivation of the name. Her brothels, if it is of interest are the Chains of Gold, supposedly her best, costing at any rate a copper tarsk for admission, and, all cheap tarsk-bit brothels, the Silken Cords, the Scarlet Whip, the Slave Racks, and the Tunnels.
...

“Welcome,” said a woman. “Welcome to the Tunnels.” I stepped within, permitting the curtain to fall back behind me.
“Come this way,” she said. She was a large, strong woman, rather straight in body and coarse in feature. She was clad in brief leather. It was suggestive of that of a warrior. She wore armlets and bracelets. She carried a whip. Such is useful in keeping the slaves in line.
...

“Are you interested in free females?” she asked.
“Not particularly,” I said.
“Let us show you one,” she said. “Esne,” she called. “Bring Lady Labiena.” In a few moments one of the hostesses had emerged from a side door leading a lovely woman, barefoot, in a wrap-around tunic, on a neck chain. She was brought to my table where, unbidden, she knelt. “She is attractive, is she not?” asked my hostess.
“Yes,” I said.
“She is a captive free woman,” said my hostess. “We are keeping her for a friend.”
“I see,” I said.
“Open your tunic,” said my hostess. The woman parted her tunic, and held it to the sides. “She is pretty, isn’t she?” asked my hostess.

“Yes,” I said. “Widen your knees,” I told the woman.
She did so, continuing to hold her tunic open. “Are you sure she is free?” I asked.
“Yes,” said my hostess.
I regarded the woman. “It seems she might as well be a slave,” I said. The woman threw me a look of gratitude.
“No, she is free,” said my hostess, “though now, to be sure, she doubtless has some notion of what a slave’s life might be like.”

Can anyone else see the BTB crowd foaming at the mouth when I wear a leather dominatrix suit with a whip on my hip while I show off my offerings...with of course a few FW!  Grin Tongue Grin

When I was running hochburg we had the hardest time finding a tavern keeper.  I really wanted one, and no one wanted the job.  after a time one of the free women asked if SHE could run it, and i said no. My slave at the time, one of the owners as well, wanted her to run it and the two of them found this quote.  Between them they insisted she could run it as a brothel...

a about month later we closed.

Svein Blue Tooth had his head down.
I sensed it first in the giant, Rollo. It was not a human noise. It was a snarl, a growl, like the sound of a larl, awakening from its sleep. The hair on my neck stood on end. I turned. The giant head was slowly lifting itself, and turning. Its eyes were closed. I could see blood beginning to move through the veins of its forehead. Then the eyes opened, and no longer were they vacant, but deep within them, as though beginning from far away, there seemed the glint of some terrible light. I saw his fists close and open. His shoulders were hunched down. He half crouched, as though waiting, tense, while the thing, the frenzy, the madness, began to burn within him.
"It is beginning," said Ivar Forkbeard to me.
"I do not understand," I said.
"Be quiet," said he. "It is beginning."
I saw then Svein Blue Tooth, the mighty jarl of Torvaldsland, lift his own head, but it did not seem, then, to be him.
It seemed rather a face I had not seen before. The eyes did not seem those of the noble Blue Tooth, but of something else, unaccountable, not understood. I saw him suddenly thrust his left forearm against the broad blade of his spear. To my horror I saw him sucking at his own blood.
I saw a man, fighting the frenzy, tear handfuls of his own hair from his head. But it was coming upon him, and he could not subdue it.
Other men were restless. Some dug at the earth with their boots. Others looked about themselves, frightened. The eyes of one man began to roll in his head; his body seemed shaken, trembling; he muttered incoherently.
Another man threw aside his shield and jerked open the shirt at his chest, looking into the valley.
I heard others moan, and then the moans give way to the sounds of beasts, utterances of incontinent rage.
Those who had not yet been touched stood terrified among their comrades in arms. They stood among monsters.
    "Kurii," I heard someone say.
"Kill Kurii," I heard. "Kill Kurii."
"What is it?" I asked Ivar Forkbeard.
I saw a man, with his fingernails, blind himself, and feel no pain. With his one remaining eye he stared into the valley. I could see foam at the side of his mouth. His breathing was deep and terrible.
"Look upon Rollo," said the Forkbeard.
The veins in the neck, and on the forehead, of the giant bulged, swollen with pounding blood. His head was bent to one side. I could not look upon his eyes. He bit at the rim of his shield, tearing the wood, splintering it with his teeth.
"It is the frenzy of Odin," said the Forkbeard. "It is the frenzy of Odin." - Marauders of Gor

This is something that I've never seen in SL, and probably never will unless someone designs a meter with a turbo function.

"He frightens me," she wept. "He is of the Black Caste."      "Serve him wine," said he, "or you will be stripped and thrown into a pen of male slaves."
The girl turned and withdrew, then approached again, climbing the stairs, delicately, as though timidly, head down. Then she leaned forward, bending her knees slightly, her body graceful, and spoke, her voice a whipser in my ear, an invitation, "Wine, Master?" as though offering not wine, but herself.....
I looked at the girl. Her eyes met mine, softly. Her lips were slightly parted. "Wine, Master?" she asked.
