Oh Kait LOL I have this odd feeling today that if I said black you'd say white, and if I said up, you'd say down.

None of my opinions nor advice are absolutes.  I carefully worded everything as a personal opinion, that I wouldn't play them, and that I don't usually suggest players do either when they ask for for advice.  I'm not saying no one can play them, or that no one should suggest them.

I think if someone wants to play this type of character, it's important that they know it will at times make for difficult RP and I don't mean negative IC reactions, I mean it would be hard to find those who will play into it at all.  It would be less than honest not to tell them that there will be people that won't interact as expected, and there there may be some OOC backlash as well.

It's been a good discussion though, anyone thinking of playing a super character archetype needs to hear the pros and cons.  It's just not my style to give the breathy lash batting rainbow and lollipop answers like "It can be SOOOO awesome to play anything, everyone is great, everywhere is perfect, and the only negativity will be purely IC and you can handle it all via RP" so I rarely give them.  I'm more apt to say "Sounds cool and plausible, but it's going to be hella hard and there are a lot of shitty roleplayers who don't know their stuff and will give you grief, so good luck"  but in the end it's just opinion and suggestion and everyone is perfectly capable of making up their own mind what to play.

In any case, I've said more than enough on the topic.  I wish anyone who tries this type of role a lot of luck and will definitely RP with them and my reactions will be purely IC.  My OOC thoughts on the matter are simply one random stranger's opinion.

LOL...not at all since many things we agree on particularly the difficulty related to the role but on this one I just wish people would just go RP.  You may be able to separate IC from OOC but most particularly those who claim to be able to rarely are and rather than give the RP a chance they are all up on their OOC high horse.  "General" they of course and not you.  The role sounds like fun to me for a person who is open-minded and not looking for it to go in only one direction.

I'm sure no slave in gor gives average BJs...that would just be INVALID!

We play in a world where we can be nearly anything we want.  Some want to be superheroes, the best fighter, the prettiest kajira . . whatever.  But as many are scrambling for center stage, it's hard to expect that all will play along with the outcome you may be hoping for; or even for that matter, understand the import of what you are trying to accomplish.

Samos did pay that much for the three slaves, but one has to take into account that he was working for the priestkings at that time and was purchasing the woman, also working for the priestkings, to be returned to tarl. They are main characters, silly shit happens in the books with main characters. It would not be an everyday event to see someone pay such an amount for a slave, or even three.

High Slave, High Paga Girl - sure why not?  But for me personally the fun part of playing the high and mighty slave is to see her get knocked a peg or two by the free around her or even by circumstance. Always being "high" can get well, boring.  LOL.

Frankly though I would find it odd to see High Paga Slave in every tavern - probably would be extremely rare and limited to larger cities such as Ar.  Norman indicated at many points in his writing that there were different levels of paga taverns.  I guess kind of like there are different levels of strip clubs in RL!

That is exactly where I see the fun in this role.  Not in the everyday playing of a High Paga Slave but in her transformation into something else entirely and I have a feeling it will be great.

I do agree that every tavern would not have a high paga slave even if the value charged was something far less than 1000 gold coin.  I see this as being a role that would only be present in the most posh of taverns not your typical wharf dive.

If all slaves gave exceptional blow jobs....would that not really mean that it is the average blow job?
 

As I see tavern running, and it would depend on area and owner.  Typically the normal paga slave comes with the price of cup of paga, simple enough no man has just one drink and enticement of needy beauty brings more customers.  A high paga slave, IMO would be the owners premium stock, his dancers, exotics and highly trained girls that offer something more than a heated body for the alcoves, therefore charging a little more than cup price for their usage.  Hell, perhaps certain slave was the Ubara of an enemy city and why not make extra for all the men to stick it to their enemy.   

High slave should have something that sets her apart and not everyone is going to agree or support that distinction.  There is no accounting for some tastes.
