I definitely can't see a slave being used as a wet nurse!

However, with higher caste women; especially the very wealthy, I would think it very viable to have a low caste woman wet nurse their young.

Unlike SL Gor the primary function of women was to have children and I think they would have enjoyed that task to include nursing of children.  The usual need for wet nurses is to allow the women to do something else whether that is return to work or other duties.  Free women usually had limited duties making this unnecessary.  The breeding of slaves was also carefully controlled and I doubt there would have been a slave newly bred available in most households.  Slaves themselves were not as prevalent as we see in SL Gor so extrapolating from that small number (2-6% of all goreans) to an even smaller number that had just given birth I just don't see it at all.  Something else to consider is that only the most beautiful slaves were chosen for breeding and it makes sense that those slaves would quickly be returned to their primary role of servicing men.

A woman, veiled, passed me. She held a baby inside her cloak, nursing it. I continued down the sloping street, toward the bazaar and market. (Tribesmen of Gor)

It was not unusual however for slaves to be given the task of caring for childen.

I'm not sure you would find the mixing of High Caste and Low Caste to include them being added to the household.  It just strikes me as odd and I can't think of an example of this occurring for other reasons even beyond being a wet nurse.

A wet nurse can be used if a baby's natural mother is unable or chooses not to breastfeed her infant. Before the development of baby formulas in the 20th century, when a natural mother was unable to breastfeed her baby, the baby's life was put in danger if a wet nurse was not available.

It was not uncommon to employ wet nurses in medieval times - a time when many women would die in childbirth.  Also, the higher classes then weren't real big into raising their own children.  You often saw examples where the child might be presented to the parents a few times a week for a brief meeting.  I think there was some quote posted elsewhere here, which I can't find now, that alluded to a similar family structure within wealthy Gorean families.

What's next...."Pooping in Gor"?

Are you suggesting that Pooping in Gor is as natural as feeding a baby? Cheesy
