Kait - the Drug Lady - Joint Owner of T&S in Ar

The problem is, it works.  We dont see the men escorting women home who are dressed inappropriately.  We dont see the women mocking the other women who have their hair loose and long.  We dont see this because its "boring" to be escorted home if you cannot put on a veil or wear your hair in a less tantalizing fashion or wear a modesty top.  Usually when a woman is escorted home for these behaviours, she behaves like a "cap" and sulks in her room and complains in group chat until people finally say... FINE go RP.  And forget the reason WHY this woman was sent home.  She'd rather create a drama bomb rather than pin that hair up, cover those boobs, and cover the face.  Even low caste I see wearing veils.  They might not be the heavy brocaded veils of the high caste but hell put a napkin over your face.

This is so true and i have stopped it longer ago to even to try to rp such. It has simply no worth at SL-Gor and is just a Sisyphean task, never ending .. constantly repeating. The bad thing is, that all the women of gor obviously expect only the men to deal with such. Thats sad as we can't do it alone.

This is actually one of the things I loved about Imperial Ar.  For the first time you did see open gossiping, back biting comments and it was not just the job of men.  It was kept IC and it was fun RP.

Conall, I think its because the people who do leave their hair down and long, and those who do show face, and those who do reveal boobage, they dont want interaction from the womenfolk.  They WANT that negative attention from the men.  But they dont want that negative attention in their being escorted home to change or to put their hair up.  They want that attention as a spanking, or a whipping, or a fucking, or any other sort of happy pretendy funtime games that they perceive as "Gorean Harshness"

So many times we "demand RP" out of those who punish.  We see cap limits like 30 minutes and no RP and I TP out.  Its almost like a forced servitude on the part of the captor to constantly entertain their captive.  And that's the way so many in SL play out being escorted home.  They're like "nooooo but then I cant go out and shove my boobage in peoples faces!!  Pout!  No RP!  Whine!"

The RP of the other FW is not what these offenders are looking for.  These will be the first to jump into a mod's IM saying "Wahhhh Suzie is being mean to me! She must OOCly hate me and have some OOC grudge against me because my avatar is soooo much hotter than hers and I get all of the guys to want to fuck me"  And then the drama bomb drops.

I will however drop subtle hints to women with their hair down, no veils and ample boobage on display ... but other than that... I've really stopped.  Its not worth the headache to me of the whining and crying over someone being escorted home.  Dear gods you would have thought they were impaled by the way they scream about it.

I was always told hair up if you're a freewoman, braids, like the twin braids or one down your back was okay if you weren't companioned or if you were younger, and then buns or tighter hair styles if you were companioned. I prolly have some quotes in my inventory that were given to me supporting this, but I don't feel like looking for them. <.<.

Absorb yourself, you're better alone.

Quote from: Nomads of Gor
He did not permit her, of course, to
bind or dress her hair; it must be worn loose; that alone,
naturally, was sufficient to mark her slave among the
wagons.

It forbids our slaves to have binded hair. But it also states that loose hair marks her as a slave, so no loose hair at free woman of the Plains. What women in cities do is not of my concern, they are the natural preys of our men anyway.

Not exactly Aphris. It didn't mean that if one of our free woman wore her hair down in the wagon that she was a slave. The slaves were not allowed to have it styled. Thus a free woman could wear her hair down but only if it were styled, eg part of it was braided.or tied in a pony tail which by southern standards would be considered still being down. The main thing was that i wasn't to be styled. not so much if it was let down.

Northern woman were allowed to wear their hair down. However for the most part they would wear their hair up as it was less hassle to deal with whilst working the land.
