If an Assassin breaks caste codes I will busy myself looking into it, in role-play as long as I hear about it... in role-play. As for this person playing Parkur... I have yet to hear anything in role-play about him. If I do/did I would/will busy myself looking into it.

for the non assasins and those not steeped in the backstory of Pakur.. I am guessing most know he died or was thought to have died in a fall from a window.... but why would his re-emergence cause so much consternation to the caste.. what did he do ?

I find it dumb that there is "No Caste Discussion in Public."  Especially on a top of role play that would affect more then just us.  A topic that might give insight on how other players should / may react towards seeing a player role playing as PaKur.  This OOC privacy thing is dumb.  We're all part of Gor, we're all playing the role of Goreans.  Nothing we say or do should matter about how people see us as role playing assassins.  If you're being judged by OOC discussions and behaviors of others then you're not stepping your game up to make yourself unique and not just a blended in part of the shadow.  Tongue

It makes me think... Could we have the list of black caste codes used in SL? Because finally, the books dont give so much informations about this caste.

I think that it would be interesting. Is someone playing an assassin could open such thread and give us these informations?

I have to admit I avoid RP with the Black Caste because of what Vincent is pointing out just now or engage them in a long term storyline because of all the OOC stuff that seems to go on behind the scenes. I don't want to feel as though I have any obligation on an OOC level to not discuss what I do on an IC level in RP.

At one point a RP partner was considering returning to his HTML roots as an assassin. I quietly prayed he didn't LOL.

Sorry if I am speaking out of place here, but I suspect I might not be the only one who feels this way.

@ Carter :

His remains were never found, so there were many that thought he escaped death. Still I agree that over so many years not many would still consider him alive. But as some say here, I can understand they won't show merci if he approached and told them he was the man that had nearly whiped all Black Caste of Gor and into the life of an outlaw.

@ Blade :

If one speaks of BC matters why would that be any different than physicians, slaves, etc. It is roleplay and with it sharing could help to educate, debate and even make things better. To veil the entire BC with this brush of hiding and not speaking could make it so that people might avoid them.

IC I am all for keeping BC mysterious and secret, but OOC they have just as much rights as any other that plays in SL Gor.

@ Blade

I'm here because I have that right and will continue to be. I haven't aired any BC Caste private discussions on this thread and you and others, other than my owner of course have no right to sensor my thoughts on ongoing RP's. I
know exactly what I say and I also know what should or shouldn't be in open or closed discussions. That being said.

Hopes to see the next installment soon..

This is a public BC forum. Anyone is welcome to post here as long as it's kept on topic.

I understand's Blade wish to not have BC issuse posted in public as in the past when we did try to bring something up pertaining to the caste a few would bash/trash the caste but Laja has handled that issue.

I always did like you! And I agree.  It's all about the separation of IC/OOC.  We're discussing role-play here, not Caste business.

I don't get it.  Is this a reference to slavery and African American history?

Black Caste Assassin

« 12. May 2012, 05:32:48 »
So the Man himself emerges.....

While I see many of the BC so eager to end his (Pa-Kur) life based on the fact that who he claims to be, I should remind each and every one of the BC that none of us are perfect. We've all done something to break the codes of our caste. Pa-Kur was simply ambitious. Ambition is not something the Caste should shun.

Case in point, the views most of the BC have taken in this thread are those who sided with Ar upon Pa-Kur's defeat. It wasn't all of Gor that hunted the BC, it was Ar and her vassals that hunted them. I am surprised at the general opinion of my caste toward a well known and feared killer. I find myself reminding my fellow caste mates that It was not Pa-Kur only who laid seige to Ar. He had legions of BC who supported him. They HAD to know what he was doing. Yet it was only after his defeat in Ar that "They" went into hiding. Some were captured, impaled or enslaved. But I highly doubt all who participated in the seige were caught.  So, before some of you pass judgement on a character such as Pa-Kur, I ask of you, where do you stand in the scheme of things after this little revelation?

I for one embrace the potential RP this character brings to the table. I do not know who the player might be, but what harm would there be to observe him? If after a lengthy amount of time passes and we as a Caste feel he has outlived his purpose, then we as a caste should decide his fate. Not a lone assassin.

The mark on my forehead is not so much a symbol of who I hunt as it is a testament to my skill. I, as a member of the Black Caste, have not earned this mark easily.
