Hello darkness, my old friend

« 10. May 2018, 03:44:47 »
This is part request and part question; How tall was the average Gorean, and how tall was Tarl Cabot? I remember seeing a thread here go down similar paths, discussing height but for the life of me I cannot find it again. Any lists of Gorean measurements would be appreciated as well. =)

I am asking this mainly because while I recall a quote saying that Tarl could see over the head of a great crowd I am not sure how true it is. I also wish to disprove a theory that being Gorean equals being The Hulk.

That awkward moment when you realize your favorite place to visit is actually a hive of scum and villany...

Maybe this was the thread you were looking for?

And here are some measurements for you...

My opinion on the matter, if you are trying to convince Gorean RPers playing in SL that they should be of a height less than 8 or 9 ft, using logic and reason are not going to work.  The builds, the furniture, the decor, much of which has been around since the beginning was built for larger avatars...no idea why.  I remember there being a trend many, many years back of trying to get builds and avatars back to a realistic size and height but I don't think it ever caught on since the "larger the better" mentality has taken hold and will probably always be the rule and not the exception.  I'm just returning after a 5ish year hiatus and totally forgot I needed a different avatar for Gor RP than just regular SL romping.  I popped into the hub looking like a shrimp.
