"Katana" is japanese for sword anyhow, so the fact that in that quote Xaz that states it was an unusual sword is because it is a slender and curved weapon compared to its european/western counterpart. This is of course if we were to assume (of which most do already) that JN has loosely drawn his influence of the Pani people from medieval Japan.

Yeah... not much getting around that one. Its a katana. I guess though us sim admins need to instill some limits on katana's I know Primus is coming out with a new one Monday. Triad did the design.  I got test the stats and damage on it.
